Today we show you how to weigh fish on a scale properly, how to hold a bass properly keeping good support of their tail if they are a larger fish and not tilting the fish in one hand which can cause longer term damage, as well as showcase the best 3 fishing scales in 2021 that we have found over the years for weighing fish and weighing Bass. Great video Westin and Devin. I have multiple scales and none of them are perfect. A fishing scale should be first and foremost, waterproof or resistant. If not I give them the side eye. Second is if you are a kayak fisherman they should float. I found a Kastking waterproof floating scale that didn’t last a year of use. So last quality I would look for in scale is durability. Lojo dropped that Googan scale in the water and it was toast. Piscifun makes a scale similar to the Rapala one you showed, cheaper and water resistant. It doesn’t float but like I said no scale is perfect

Hmm googan scale looks pretty good. I like the plastic holder it's very useful and it doesn't damaging the fish mouth compare to the last one I hade one before it just cuts the fish mouth up way to much especially when the fish starts shaking.

Man I thought you should have emphasized way way more about where the hook goes on the ozark trail aka the Walmart scale. Especially with how much you focused on the safety of the fish. Soooo many people post pics on all social media platforms with the hook in the wrong slot of the gills. And if you have it in the wrong slot and the fish shakes you need to worry more about the fish that you just killed then you losing your catch and not weighing it. Their gills are very sensitive and prone to damage with the hook style scale. Also a great tip for anyone who has just the hook style scale and not a grip scale, you can just connect a grip or clip or anything that will hold onto the fish's lip and then hook your scales hook to that.

I did what you suggested and bought grippers to with my scale. Someone bought me a hook style scale as a gift so I went and bought grippers. I think that’s the best way to go.

Does the googan scale weigh in pounds and ounces or just pounds. Like 2.5 pound or 2 pounds 8 ounces.

Those hook scales are junk. I refuse to use a hook, if they shake, you can drop them of injure their gills. Best to use a body bag or a grip...regardless of scale choice.
