@@lloydcdannett5970 If this person were putting down floor tile, I could cut some slack, but he/she/ is building a canopy frame that will be supporting some kind of roof above people's heads. Work like this could get someone injured or killed. This person does not know how to weld and depending on the application, when people get hurt or killed because of their shoddy work, they are just proving their liability!! This person should take up another line of work. Maybe portrait painting or something like that where doing a shitty job, doesn't risk hurting people!!
You must not let the molten pool extinguish; when it goes out, the electrode's slag sticks to the metal. Keeping it hot pushes it forward and keeps it more isolated from the weld metal.
True. He could avoid slow vertical up all together with a quick down bead. That tube is thin asf and as long as u whip a bit to get a bit of arc on the work metal, and keep ~90 degree work angle you will easily penetrate with 75-95 amps. ThT tube is thin, penetration isnt even something you should have to think about. No uphill required. This is a beginner joint….
Shit welder sorry. Seen guys do runs on thin steel like that and weld once. You could also flip what you welding over. You only weld vertical if no choice.
Everyone always comments on welder’s work…. But nobody here has any of their own work posted…… just a bunch of cry babies who think they’re better than everyone else
Umm, that's what we reference in the trades as "hammered dog 💩". And, as bad as that was, then to grind the face off of it, that weld has no structural integrity, as if the porosity under that down handed stringer wasn't bad enough.
Sometimes the welding specs say it must be ground flush or flat, in which case I hope it allows an open root weld so I can get inside reinforcement. In this case you are correct. Self taught mistake
I'm confused. First, you show it's wrong to go up in a zig-zack U-pattern. Then you demonstrate what we should actually do. Go up in a pinetree pattern. To the side, up to the center, back down to the other side, repeat. That's exactly how the guy who's currently teaching me welding recently taught me how to weld vertically accessing. But then that isn't what you actually do.
Dude what are you counting what the welds looked like, at my work you would get punched in the head if you tried to teach someone to weld like that, first of all you had too much current 2 your electrodes were too thick, or are you a beginner welder that you are trying to teach someone such mistakes..???
Just no. The weld needs to be a single weld your trapping the slag btween welds.

No actually lol. He should turn the heat DOWN and down pass with a 90degree work angle. Quick whip and pause will make a thin, standard diameter bead that will penetrate no matter what because its fuckin thin walled tube 😂. Silly comment brother
@@GrannySoupLadleexactly. Too much heat and standing too still with the stick are what causes burn through. This may be thin wall steel but it's not as thin as sheet metal.
I am red seal welder. Wrong. Because the steel is thin. Give a down hill weld once not to fast. Welder does not ground his weld. Only if you make a mistake. Is a person a welder or a grounder?
I love it thanks a lot keep teaching us I’m watching I want to weld stick and tig I’m getting back into the field and your videos help a lot. Thank you and may God continue to do great for you and your family well 💯🙏🏾
