www.crosstrainingenduro.com tractionerag.com Learn to how to wheelie in five easy steps. Well that's what many say. Instead, we offer these five wheelie tips before you even start to learn now. First, the good news. Anyone can learn to wheelie. Anyone. The bad news? It requires hours of practice. Hours and hours and hours: First step, you need to commit to regular practice learning how to wheelie. Ignore this advice at your own peril. Appreciate the complexity of what you are attempting. To reduce chances of small talk with your local XRAY tech, do not skip steps when learning how to wheelie. Do not assume you “got” step two down after only successfully replicating it two or three times in your hour of practice. Ignore this advice at your own peril. Here are some videos that break wheelies into logical, manageable steps for muppets, gumbies and reprobates who day dream of wheelies. If you believe our message makes sense, please mash the like and subscribe button, this allows us to provide you with more sketchy advice learning how to wheelie and do it more frequently. Adios muchachos. This will not happen in one session. Expectations. Learning to wheelie will take longer than you think. As an intermediate rider, there are, at minimum, five separate skills you will need to learn to do a wheelie. Then, if you successfully master each of these skills for learning how to wheelie, you will require hours of practice to tie them together. Watch a good instructional video on how to wheelie. There are four hundred and twenty thousand fantasy wheelie videos on RU-vid. I suggest several at the end of the video. Practice. Man, how come we’re talking about practice again? Research suggests that it takes approximately 20 hours of practice to begin to learn a complicated new physical skill and 10K hours to master it. Lies, all of them. LIES. Expert riders who have been experts for a really long time are often the worst people to learn from. Watching every single wheelie video on the internet will not bring you one single step closer to learning it if you do not have the discipline to practice. This is the number one reason why you will fail, therefore the first reason listed. You need to find yourself a convenient, appropriate and safe place to commit to regular practice. If you plan to make it as convenient and accessible as possible, this will may be the number one reason you will succeed if learning how to wheelie a motorbike. They often, but innocently, leave necessary steps out because they “just do it” without thinking. These skills have been ingrained in their muscle memory often since they were children, it doesn’t exist as a separate skill. We have all experienced this. You are on the trail, in a tricky situation and you ask, “What do I do?” and the more experienced rider reponds, “I don’t know, just ride over it”. You need a practical, step by step breakdown on how to begin the process of learning how to wheelie a dirt bike. Wheelies are unbelievably complex, they are physical and they are scary. You need to break down the first steps until you have them down cold. After 30, your bones have seen their best days. Bones density begins to decrease and every year afterwards you become more susceptible to fractures. Wheelies and fractures are roommates. They exist together in close quarters. Expecting that you will surely “get it” after a few sessions is completely unreasonable and you are setting yourself up for failure. Sure, if you are athletic and learn new physical skills quickly, it will take less time than someone who lacks athletic ability, hand/eye coordination but it will take longer than you anticipate learning how to wheelie. This process will be a roller coaster of failure combined with emotional highs and lows. For every AHA moment you experience, prepare for a frustrating glut of consistent failure shortly afterwards. Consistent advancement is one of the elusive dragons you will need to battle. Usually we list safety a distant third but today, it ends up sixth, simply because safety is a real downer during a wheelie conversation. Many of you are over 30 years old. They are fun to watch because they reinforce your existing delusions about learning how to wheelie motorbikes. They make you feel like learning to wheelie really isn’t that difficult. They make it look easy. They conveniently leave out the dangerous consequences.

IMPORTANT! As with all our training vids, read our disclaimer first before attempting any techniques: bit.ly/2U0bgCy Also, you must first learn to cover the rear brake properly. This greatly reduces the risks while learning. See this vid: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IFCwwugCwaA.html There is risk involved. However you can reduce the risks by learning to cover the rear brake, and learning to lift the front wheel higher in gradual steps.

You asked me six years ago if I could wheelie. I think my answer was "yeah sorta". I've only just gotten to covering the rear brake in emergency situations last year. Wheelies take a very long time, even longer if you're as slow as me!
@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 3 года назад
I reckon taking a long time is a good way to go, Alex. So many guys practice rear brake covering a dozen times and think they have nailed it. But of course it takes a long long time before it becomes an instinct and you actually do it when you go past the balance point instead of bailing!

I think learning this wheelie early is not helping your enduro skills. The first wheelie one should learn to do is while standing and the reason is simple: To master this wheelie you need your foot on the rear break, which requires your butt to be on the seat, but on a real enduro wheelie your foot should be under the pedal in order to hold the balance of rider to bike when the bike gets vertical and your butt should be far from your seat. Learning to wheelie standing (with the ability to pull yourself to the front fender if you have to) is crucial to survive a lot of mishaps in them woods or even jumps and will give you the confidence to keep it pinned.
@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 3 года назад
If you see our video about 'the small practical wheelie' we do focus on the proper wheelie you actually need to know. I believe you should have the rear brake covered for every single wheelie though. You simply adjust your pedal to the height needed so this is possible. We had links to all the wheelie training at the end.
@Achilleas7

@@crosstrainingenduro Thanks for the response bro! You caught me, the truth is i am not watching riding videos much lately, i responded to the combination of title to thumbnail and people trying to emulate Graham backwards with that wheelie while they shouldn't start there but they do. My inability to learn to wheelie with the foot on the brake when young is what taught me to always balance it out and it turns out it's much more usable when jumping around in trails to keep your mind off the brake as it changes your body stance. When your chin is on the front fender and the bike is up, no break pedal can get that low, your boot goes under it.. try it out but you might need a 250 as i don't ride 300s that way either :P Don't get me wrong about watching, your channel is my favorite but the riding mood here has been low and trying (desperately) to pick it up!
