This video tutorial from SHOWME DIY briefly explains how to whitewash your paneling.
Materials needed:
1. Oil based primer
2. Mineral spirits
3. Two paint trays (one for your primer/mineral spirits mix, the other for washing your brushes with mineral spirits)
4. One large paintbrush (4" or so)
5. One small paintbrush (1" or less, depending on the gap size between each wood panel)
6. Paint deglosser or sandpaper
7. Painters tape or waterproof tape
8. Dropcloth
9. Clothes you don't mind throwing away
10. Chemical mask for fumes (just to be safe)
11. Rags (in case you get your whitewash mixture on something you don't want it on. Good luck getting it off of fabric or carpet, though!)
You don't have to use oil based primer, but I did because I had an abundance of it, I wanted this whitewash to last a long time, and if I decide to paint over the whitewash my walls are already primed!
