Thanks. .. Some idiot at the jewelry store told me that the role did not have a date set function so I'd change it by using the hour setting. I'd only wear it when it was close to the date that it was left on last time the watch stopped at. I love this watch, it says I'm retired. Thanks again!
I have a DeepSea. I did wind it 2 days ago after two years of buying it Brand New. I have noticed that my minute hand moves so smoothly now than ever. The sweeping through is no longer worrying.
Date shouldn't be set on random hour. But safe at 5:30 to 6:30 o'clock position. So to start with the hour hand setting first and date afterwards. Hereby you will avoid mechanical damages like gears / cog wheel inside.
The rotating bezel has nothing to do with how much air you have. It is for measuring bottom time. Your depth times your bottom time determines if you will have to decompress. You plan your dive to try and avoid decompression stops on the ascent. That is why keeping track of bottom time is essential.
Thanks very much for this video. I purchased the Rolex Submariner and It's been completely useless to me until now! I didn;t know how to set the date, set the time or wind it up. Also I had no idea the bezel rotated. Thanks for to this video I now fully know how to operate this watch and I can finally start telling the time and date with it.
Or if it's a gift like in my case. My uncle just randomly just took of his watch and gave it to me but I had no idea how to use it and don't have the box or anything else either
It’s a mystery to me that people can buy a mechanical device and be completely clueless about its simplest, daily functions. And even less, why they don’t read the instruction manual.
why someone has to move the basel in order to track the time under water ? they can just check i started at 4.02, so 4.32 will be my 30 minutes under water and 5.02 will be my 1 hour, this feature is quite dumb tbh.... No use.
Perhaps just give it to me your Submariner? :P nah Go to your rolex shop or store then give the watch to them and see if what they can do... Rolex have great service so you should get ready your wallet.. Their service charge is overprice..
Disposable income margins are relative. If you spend 1% of your weekly pay on a watch and it costs you $100, a wealthier person could spend 1% of their weekly pay on a watch and it would cost them $10,000. It's not a waste of money for the second person; it's the same margin.
I was thinking that too, the sound of the bezel and the sound of the links moving isn't right it sounds cheap and the text that says 300 m looks a bit off.
Feedbias INT It's an older model my friend. That is exactly how this Rolex submariner 16610 bracelet and bezel sound like. Rolex started making this model in 1989 I believe. The newer ceramic models have a much better bracelet, clasp, and bezel. But vintage or modern, it's a submariner.
@@alcapone2243 I think I have a fake one, but it has first position to wind the watch manually and it makes a buzzing sound to wind it, then second position when you put out the knob is for date and then last position is to set the time. This watch was a gift so I don't know if its real or not. I'm hoping its real.
