Just a small point on your mains in connection to the power supply. You have used different colour crimp lugs to match the colour of your cable core. The colour of the lug is determined by the conductor size. I.e. Red- 0.5 to 1.5mm, Blue 1.6 to 2.5mm and Yellow 2.6 to 6mm. Your conductor size is .75mm2 so all three crimp lugs should be Red.
Great video friend ... Very accurate and very explanatory! Thank you for making it available ... I would like a little information: Would you have any link to provide me with some scheme of the Jamma whip? I have already searched in several places and can not find ... If I have a PDF schema link I would be very grateful. In the most great video, and always keep bringing the learning of the 80's and 90's to the present day =).
Excellent video. Quick question, the Coin wire (16- Green) terminates to a white plastic connector and not a single wire to connect to a Coin button with a microswitch? Is there a different button used for credits? Thanks so much
Cool video. I have a really stupid question if i use a pc power supply apart from the joystick and buttons do i need to connect any other of the ground wires anywhere
This video helped me a lot! I do have a querie though. Ive seen some setups (and old arcades) that have current filters fitted. So you have the plug socket that connects to the mains then the wires from the plug connect to a current filter and to a fuse. Then that connects to this power supply. What is this setup for? Thanks
Hi good vidio..but if i was to use computor power supply.where would the wires go .i.e the yellow black and so on.you showed on the small power supply all going up in a line you only showed power on the computor power supply.cheers buddy
Is there a way to connect your monitor to the power supply? Can you connect a monitor to either the power supply, or Jamma harness? I am asking, because I am trying to build an arcade cabinet. Or, does the monitor need to be power on through an outside power source?
I know your board isn't a pandora's box, but do you know if those have molex pin connectors for powering? I see many ads say they do but don't see the connection port on the pictures. I have a perfectly good PSU I would rather use than have to buy an arcade power supply and solder! Any idea?
So youve got power supply cable.then you have to also plug in monitor..is there away where it will run off one plug.instead of both.in other words.like an original gaming table..cheers all
i have a wei-ya cv04 cga to video converter connected to my jamma harness connected to an ntsc TV. it works fine when I plug my neogeo mvs to the jamma harness, but when I plug the PB4 into it the video isn't syncing. Getting black and white only and the video is tearing. I vaguely remember reading something about some boards needing jumpering sync pins on the jamma connector or something. Any ideas?
Hi buddy im new to this.ive built an arcade table.player 1 one end player 2 the other end.my question is which im stuck on is ive done the wiring on player one side.but when move to other side player two the ground dont reach you get about 6 spades to conect the rest are going across the center of table .which you cant use .can you xtend these in anyway so to ground everthing as it should be ..thank you
are the pandora box cartridges pretty reliable? i have seen several reviews with all mixed reviews. would you recommend one to a newby arcade owner? i built an arcade now im just deciding on what type of pcb i should use.
The Boards have a internal amplifier so you can connect the speaker wires on the loom directly to the speakers. There's no need to rotate the monitor as the 619 boards play vertically, the smaller 412 boards need to be vertical.
hi mate is the 619 in 1 board legal or illegal ? im making my own arcades but i dont want to come across problems using it for commercial use can u give me some advice
hi, can I ask a quick question, the cart/board shown street fighter etc, is the loom responsible for buttons 4,5,6? I was of the impression it needed a kick board for those? just wandering as I have a gun game board and USB arcade sticks for my Mame setup, just wanted to see how it differs compared to a multi game. thanks for this video, quite useful in your explaining oh, one final question, have u had any experience with a Pandora's box version? thinking of Molex power etc
The loom used here has connections for all 6 buttons. I've only ever used the 619 boards as the pandora boards tend to have too many beat em ups as apposed to the better range of games on these boards. www.ultracabs.co.uk/jamma-harness-6-buttons-per-player-102-p.asp
Hello. Sorry for my noon question. Does the Pandora box work like a standalone computer or does it need some hardware like a computer to work. I've seen lots of p boxes everywhere but I can't find a good picture on how it is plugged and powered.. Thank you
***** If anything, it seems like leaving it loose is a bad idea. If it gets knocked around and bridges two of the other leads, that could be short city.
Just thought I’d leave this here the -5 wire can be connected to PSU it will make no difference. Watched a few videos where they hook it up regardless so PSU is smart enough to pull what it needs
Good morning I mistakly bought Pandora box 5S 986 in 1 Jamma Arcade Cabinet Classics Fighting Game Board I need a joystick or super gun to connect the board to the tvDo you know what is compatible with this board????I also left you an email on your websiteI will order the right items from your website if you show me what to doBecause I'm very new at thisThank you
By the way I live in Michigan USA So if there is any electronics I burchase from your website either plugs or electric cords need to be able to connect it to the tv or to the plug or vise versa
I think most people wire a power strip into the external on/off switch like this one: www.hollandcomputers.com/store/pc/Power-EMI-Filter-with-Built-In-Power-Switch-with-fuse-by-RetroArcade-us-2512p5988.htm
I have a small retro gaming channel and this vid helped me understand powering up my arcade build. Thanks for sharing and if you like come check me out at Level By Level Gaming
You can use the Jamma diagram to follow the wires down the loom so you wouldn't need to rely on the colours. As long as the power wires are installed you can put the board into its setup mode and wire it as you go. You'll then be able to check the wiring, when you press a button or move the joystick the corresponding button / movement will be highlighted on the screen so you can verify that its wired correctly.
+neontetra1000 You actually see this in a lot of machines once you pop the lid. In that light this is a PSU intended to be built into a cab, if you decide to have it sitting on your desk with leads exposed then that's your call really.
