How To Work With Spirits 

Me even two years into my practice: "is it me or is it a spirit?" Still there 😅

I've learned so much from you since I stepped on this path in April! I bet I'm your only follower who is a great-grandma, LoL! Thanks for your hard work 😊

In the subject of small spirits, this is exactly why Catholics pray to a specific Saint to intercede on their behalf. Especially if is a Saint who went through similar difficulties when they were alive. They feel a connection because Saints were people here on Earth who went through human difficulties. I just though I'd share because I found it interesting how it works in the same way within other spiritual practices.

Just wanted to address the fear aspect of your video, as someone who is trying to be better about working with spirits. I have a lot of trauma around spirit work because as a teen my family suffered at the hand of a malevolent spirit. I was not aware as I am now about how to protect my space much less how to banish a spirit. I didn't even believe in spirits at the time. Growing up my mother's side was very much into occult and spiritual practices, my mom even revealed her dad was a member of the Rosicrucian order. The advice given to me growing up was if you see or hear anything pretend, pretend you didn't. I felt and heard many unseen energies growing up (which I've come to understand are spirits) but because I couldn't see anything/ experience anything, I was skeptical and needed hard proof. So I asked any spirit to show me proof of their existence, I even welcomed them into our home to prove to me they existed, but because there was no concept of filtering good or bad, I surely welcomed something that meant us harm. Everyone in our home started seeing things, hearing things, being touched by unseen things and having nightmares. It was an overall terrible experience that left all of us fearful of spirits.

What a timely video! I just started working with spirits and it's very helpful to hear what you've experienced and compare to my own. It's also answered some questions I've had. Thank you so much Ivy for the work you do, you're one of the few occultists in the online sphere that gives real occult information, not just playing into the aesthetic.

Thank you for this, I love hearing about people's experiences with spirits!☺️🙏🖤 I used to be one of those people, very no-no, about ouija boards. But the more I learned about how spirits actually work (or seem to work) and energies, protections, all that stuff, it put a lot into perspective. It's sort of like being scared of a frying pan because a bunch of movies keep showing people turning the heat on high, with a towel right next to the flame, and no fire extinguisher in the house.😅

Hi ivy, I am a natural medium and appreciated you saying how it shouldn't be that big difficult thing like some people portray. Yes it's an amazing thing but it's just a matter of shifting your consciousness .meditation and a daily spiritual practice helps this ability deepen. I was just reading suzanne giesmans newest book and recommend that for practices that help with tuning in. The book was called" the awakened way'. Thank you ivy! Love all you do!

I love hearing about your personal gnosis and do wish more people spoke about theirs as long as it's clearly labeled as personal gnosis. We all have different and interesting experiences, and I'm too damn curious to stick with the same stories and experiences that have been told over and over. I appreciate them and folk practices and utilize them plenty, but it's fun and fresh to get different stories. It's also so useful to be able to compare my experience to others, not in a way to mimic them or to discard my own experience if it's different, but to know what else is possible. I feel it expands my mind. I digress. I'm very appreciative of your teaching style, and I'm so grateful to you for being accessible, open minded and curious as well. Your content really has something for everyone at any level.

Jason Miller books are excellent! They are easy to read and help to dispel a lot of the myths surrounding the spirit world. He gives tips on ways to achieve desired goals, protection, and just overall how to get into being a magic practitioner. I highly recommend his books!!

I’m glad to see this topic brought up, considering I live in a haunted house. It wasn’t three days ago that I felt a hand lightly pinch my waste while laying in my bed in an empty room. As if a man’s hand reached up from the edge of the bed and gave me a quick squeeze. My husband was taking a shower and my daughter was at work. No one was visibly there to do that. There have been times in this house that made me deeply afraid far beyond any reasonable explanation or rational reason that could explain what happens here. We can go long periods of time where they is nothing, only maybe one tiny incident that is easy to ignore like this side pinch since nothing more happened. Husband will feel what he thinks is me sitting down on the edge of the bed so he rolls over to speak to me-but there’s no one there. Just that butt imprint on the bed. Of course when we tell outsiders they look at us like we’re sad crazy desperate attention seekers or liars. They give you this “ohhhhhhh K!” look of “imma back away slowly now and get away from the bat sh-t crazies” 😂. We’ve learned long ago not to tell anyone who doesn’t love us and know we aren’t lying. The times that were bad were really bad. Like “sleep fully clothed with the light and TV on and the door open ready to run” bad. The cat who slept with us for years suddenly wouldn’t enter the room anymore. She would sit outside the door looking in but wouldn’t cross the threshold for anything. All of this bad activity kicked up during a house renovation that apparently really ticked off the spirit who lives here. It only died down to manageable levels we could live with after the renovation was complete. While researching that in the middle of yet another sleepless night during all that, I felt an invisible hand push the hair to one side of my neck-as if he wanted me to know that he was there. I say “he” because we assume it was the man who died in this house, the one who built it and the only one to die here inside of it. I stay for the sheer willfulness of it. Literally four generations of my family have lived in this house on our family property, and I’ll be damned if anyone is running me off my own home. The house was built, the guy died in it, it was sold to another family who didn’t stay long, and then my grandfather purchased it. He raised his kids here, my mom took it over when they moved out and we lived here, then when she left it we purchased it and raised our kids here (the kids were NEVER bothered though???). Yeah. Neither kid had a complaint the whole time or we would have gone. We asked and asked. The only report was my daughter had the bathroom light switch go off on her once-which our ghost likes doing that to people). So anyway I’m going to listen to this whole video even though it’s long. Might be helpful.

I practice spirit work with a pendulum and a oui ja board. Most of the time I attract spirits of the dead, sometimes I can see their face in my mind. I advice the amethyste stone to develop the third eye and get visions. I also remark sometimes spirits are attracted by deity work. I recently made a ritual to Astarte and I dreamed of a gnome.

Great video as always! I do get nervous about working with deities and other spirits besides my ancestors. They are the main ones I speak with along with my guides. I notice my ancestors LOVE juice and pop. Not surpising because we all got a sweet tooth lol. Maybe I will work with deities and saints at some point and land spirits. Definitely need to work on fear of my own power. Have you talked about spiritual psychosis before, Ivy?

My UPG / view is that there is a hierarchy of spirits or mythic beings. I view it all hierarchical and I remember a voice call and someone said that if you can't remove something then go higher than that being. From smaller spirits to deities, all of them deserve love and respect regardless. Love when people talk about brownies and the smaller folks that are there within the places that we call home

I really apprecuate the honoring of all practices. This us a wonderful guide. I admit, I n3vwr thought about the spirit board in that way. I love what you said about fear in yourself and how quiet it actually is. Interesting belief about God Experiences. I believe similarly. I also agree about big spirirs and bigger ones. When I encounter spirits, my first thoughts are oooooo! I want to get to know them. It's never an intervueq or what can I get out of then. Sometimes I see things like hair facial features of their aura I like, so I usually complunent them.

When a witch, spiritual person, or a pagan talks badly about ouija I know that they clearly are not educated enough because like you said it is NO different than tarot, oracle, pendulum, scrying etc.

This is a wonderful video! Thank you. I’ve been working on my meditation and getting into an alpha state for a while now. I finally realized I was getting some “hits”. It comes to me while in alpha state and it is first a sort of symbolic vision. Then the knowing or discernment comes. I confess I’ve looked up some meanings. This past week was the first time I consciously realized all this. Not sure what I’d call it, clairvoyance, and a sense of knowing or maybe just interpretation. As you said it’s all very subtle. I am very excited though! Oh and I used scented candles so I guess this can be an offering.

This was great information thank you! I know I've watched the previous videos you mentioned but I'm going to go rewatch. Totally off my meditating game. I also like how you said the ritual a person uses to contact and communicate can be as hard or easy as you make it. I keep hearing to do the LBRP, then I've heard if you're going to do the LBRP you have to do the Quabalistic (sp) cross with it. 🙄 That is way too much for me, I'd never get time to spend with the spirits!

Thank you for touching on the topic of fear. I know I have created a mental block from allowing myself to be open to spirits. And I don't know if I could allow myself to open that barrier. Many of the women in my family had/have experiences with spirits, and unfortunately mostly malevolent experiences. I just don't think I am prepared enough to go there, if that makes sense. It is fear. My sensations are not physical senses, rather intuitive. I can sense when a place or a person harbours malevolence, and I avoid being near it or them. I cannot imagine what would happen if I allowed myself to be open to spirits as well. I am very glad to hear you have a friendship with yours, that is such a wonderful thing!!

I define a spirit in two ways: A non-physical entity Sentient energy

My first experience with a spirit was when I was 3. It was human, it was someone who passed in the house do to overdose - he was the landlady's son from what my dad told me. I never let go of my capability since then. On/Off I've encountered so many more at random. One really messed up encounter was at a Las Vegas hotel once I hit 20, it was a woman who used razor blades on herself in a bathtub, I heard a lot of crying that night as i tried sleeping. Yeah those places are a hotspot for spirits of those who offed themselves. I've picked up smells too, you hit the nail on that. I've seen the spirits of household pets too. For me it's been automatic when seeing them, I can see them at will now. This is part of the reason I decided to refer to myself as a warlock. Not just because I'm a male witch but because of what it means "Spirit Song/Caller" from the old Norse term "VVardi-Lokker" I loved this video Ivy thank you for this video! P.S when I was younger I really liked messing with Ouija boards, I got kicked out of my old church for pulling one out of my bag and using it with my friends during youth group lol. 🤘🍎🐍

Spirits are constructs of the mind. Only vessel dies, mind is divided into 2, lower mind constructs and higher mind constructs. Higher mind is ascended ancestors and angelic beings, as well as higher elemental scale creatures. Lower mind is lost souls, stuck ancestors, demonic entities and certain land giants. I explain this in great detail using frequency and wavelength diagram to explain the worlds and their division in video on my channel “What is Spirituality”.

Hil Ivy, , what would be your suggestion on being sensitive to energies so I am very sensitive to energies around me, I can pretty much pick up on energies of a person a place and so forth, how can I go from there and strengthening that and using that to connect with say my land spirits, like trees, and so forth

31:41 it can be scary though. I saw a spirit shove a tall, muscle bound man with so much force, that it immediately knocked him out for 10 mins or so. Before that I wouldn’t have imagined a spirit to be capable of that level of aggressive force. That was some juiced up spirit, for real. I saw another throw an entire bed in order seal up a staircase with it, in an effort to prevent further exploration. Yeah, some of them can be real charming. Some don’t harm, but love scaring and playing pranks on people. The most distasteful spirits, in my opinion though, are the ones that feed off people’s energies while they sleep. Unable to get their energy from source, they’ve been reduced to parasites.

Trapping spirits?!…would be interested in knowing more about that. In terms of Ouija, yeah, most folk don’t close the connection, as you said, this has led to many disastrous outcomes.

Is it possible to unknowingly rid your home of all spirits good and bad? I don't feel any sort of presence in my home and I would like to experience that. I do have wards and iron around my perimeters as well as smaller layers of protection.

Could Dungeons and Dragons dice be mediums? I ask because DnD dice are in the shape of platonic solids which, (unless Im getting it wrong), have a correlation with sacred Geometry. If so, how would one use them as a medium?

What about if you are a spirit keeper & have a demon? The demon I had I set my boundaries but he never did anything to me or my pets but I wasn't going to work with a demon since he was used in voodoo but more to develop a understanding with an enity that is known as bad .I work more with the shem angels.

Fear is what is keeping me in the armchair. Do practitioners HAVE to work with spirits or Gods/Godesses because I'm not sure I really believe in them in the first place.

Hi from Athens Greece. I have this question that NOBADY ANSWERS in books , sacred texts , mythologies etc apart Jiddu Krishnamurti and Osho. WHY WORK WITH SPIRITS? The only answer that comes from these two is because that one is an Idiot and cant Work with himself. Spirits dont understund Biology or Monney and cant interfear with the rules of luck as luck is random. So why work with spirits especially when they find us grotesque and disqusting? Also when do you know its your fantasy of a real spirit. Just by intuition ?
