Why not align the edges of the wrap with the open edge of the holster, leaving a bit of overhang, and then trim it off like the rest when you go around with the razor? Then you wouldn't have a seam at all. Regarding the ads, I prefer the sponsor spots over the random and annoying YT ads. Interesting idea. Not something I'm likely to do to my holster, but interesting to see how it's done.

Wranglerstar, count my vote in the “sponsored videos are OK with me” column. You are right… your sponsored ads generally reflect our common interests.

I've used clear nail polish around the edges, too. Seems to work real well. Used it on my dirtbike's graphics edges, as well. Keeps those edges down real well. The sponsored ads you do are fine because of our common interests and we know the ones you chose are ones you use ! Glad to see you're feeling better. Prayers

This is the type of content that brought me to this channel many years ago, the ads don’t bother me!

Part of the benefit of wrapping a holster in this type of material is it cuts down on reflectivity since kydex can be kinda shiny. And noise reduction from a branch or something similar, instead of plastic is on cloth. I think both are minimal, but every bit counts sometimes. I prefer ads from content creators as opposed to the ones from RU-vid.

I think elimination of reflection is the main perk of wrapping the holster in fabric. This was super awesome. Glad to see you upright and active.

great diy project. quick question, why even have a seam in the back? I think you can just wrap from end to end just like the sheet of kydex was folded and cut. not sure if i'm explaining that correctly :). glad you are feeling better.

The closet pole trick is genius! And warming the glue first is definitely important. If the 77 glue is cold it won’t set and sprays out very clumpy/ bubbly. As far as the advertising on your channel, the more you can control the content the better!

why did you create the scenario of having to cut a seam? you already had a seam in the back. Press the bent side in the middle of the fabric then just press it all in. once you have full coverage cut around the edges to clean it up then punch holes. then reassemble

Instantly recognized Rekieta's stream in the background as I have had my computer set up with it on in the background each day throughout the trial. By far the best coverage of the trial anywhere.

I don't OWN a gun (UK) and never will but I just love watching this guy. He seems to have ALL the toys and ALL the hobbies. I'm sure not ALL Americans have this much stuff in their lives but most you tubers seem to have tons of stuff. Boats, SUV's, Jet Skis, guns, tents, stoves, rods and reels, chain saws, welding gear, pressure cookers, mason jars, etc. etc. etc. I should move!

Looks good. Curious why you didn't simply align the seam with the kydex seam. Regarding ads, you do what you need to do, brother. Many of us use ad blockers, acquiring sponsors would be the better way to get ad revenue and not having to share it with a company that hates us is a bonus.

Really enjoying the members only video releases. I personally don't support you specifically for access early but it's certainly makes me feel valued. Hope your feeling stronger each day and do not worry about the ad sponsors those of us who support the channel know you need to do what you can to stay away from the youtube ads.

Great video, thanks for that. I’ve done this with knife sheaths using canvas to quiet it down when walking through brush in the woods, kydex has a tendency to scream when a twig hits it. And I must say, you are genuinely a marketing genius, purposely doing it “wrong” with the seam knowing that the “mistake” would lead to hundreds more comments on the video. ;)

Instead of having the seam on the back, why didn't you just put the ends of the fabric where the holster separates, since you had to cut it there anyway?

If the holster effectively has a seam on the back edge, why wrap the cloth all the way around and have a cloth seam on the back side? why not just follow the same seam for both? Either way, this is an awesome wrap... I like that a LOT more than getting a camo print kydex. I would think it would make it a little quieter, and less "shiny" or reflective. I also really like that holster system.. I hate having the holster threaded in the belt, and then you need to take the pistol off, but the only way to do that is unholstering the pistol.. I like keeping the holder on the pistol like that. Also, for the ads.... just FYI, my ads for this video were for Carter's children's pajamas.. Last thing.... the YT channel Donut Media also does in-video ads, however, they also add a little yellow progress bar across the bottom of the frame while in the ad part of the video... I thought that was kind of clever.

Awesome Job Brother!! Of course we all have our own way of doing things! At about 5:00 you spray the holster on the post away from the material. I would (and will) spray it over the material. The extra couldn't hurt! As far as ads I have NEVER had a video on your channel interrupted by an ad. My preferred browser has various ad blockers. If everyone would do their homework they also could watch you uninterrupted as well. It's really useful when you are sharing The Word. No one needs an ad in the middle of that to distract from your shared message. I don't mind your personal "ads" at all. I regard them as testimonials!

Wrapping reduces heat signature. Also protects the holster from the elements. Great video! Thanks for posting!

I used my forming press to stick the fabric to the kydex and it worked really well.

Looks awesome Cody, next time I would recommend just wrapping the whole holster leaving both edges overhanging on the open side of the holster, (where the retention is) that way you will have no seam on the holster at all. Awesome video, I will be doing this to some of my stuff in the future.
