This is the best video. You know, my family and I make this all the time but I am hopeless, my sister gave up teaching me to wrap. Now I se why, she doesn't teach like you do, I really connect to your way of showing how it is made. Easy as. I also have a sister that is as hopeless as I am, now I know why. Thank you
@@SammyWongsKitchen Hi Sammy, I have finely bought ingredients/leaves etc for the Zongzi and have been practicing to wrap for last couple of days. I have a question for you, how much rice do I add overall please? I am having a lot of trouble measuring the amount of rice to use. If you can tell me using the Chinese soup spoon as a measurement, I'd appreciate it very much thanks.
@@60gidget You will need 2/3 cup of the soaked rice mixture. You can find a 1/3 cup measuring cup, put 2/3 cup in a bowl and see how many Chinese soup spoons that makes. When I have family and we make this as an activity, I will take a disposable plastic cup, measure 2/3 cup and mark it off with a sharpie so they know how much rice to use. Hope this helps and let me know how it turns out!
@@SammyWongsKitchen Thanking you kindly for getting back to me.........I think i have given you the wrong question. What i meant is, how many spoon full of rice in the Zongzi it self? Thanks
It's that time of the year again, that you so much. I've been struggling to make zhongzi when I came across your video. Now I'm waiting for them to cook 🥰
I’m so glad that it was helpful. It makes my time and effort worth it when I know it’s helping someone. Please let others know about my channel and subscribe!
My mom used to use this method as well. I’d forgotten how to do this and struggled at times. I’m making joong tomorrow and will use your folding method!
@@SammyWongsKitchen yes! We've made zongzi a few times and thought your video was the most helpful for wrapping instructions! We prefer the smoother side inside as our rice stuck to the rougher side. We found your video helpful and our zongzi turned out beautiful thanks to you!
Best wrapping explanation for zongzi!!!! I'm wondering if I should cook everything so I don't have to boil it for 4 hrs and just steam it for 30 minutes or more.
Thank U for the detailed demonstration & explanation. I’ve been searching for the wrapping style you’ve shown. Certainly creating these cultural Zongzi at home is higher level of hygiene compared to store bought. Well worth the time and efforts.
