I struggled writing treatments for years! I had no idea what to do when I started out and was first asked to submit one. Why do you need to write a treatment? What's the best way to communicate your idea to artist / commissioner / agency / studio?
This is what I've learnt so far in my time in the industry and hopefully it'll help you develop yours some.

I had someone tell me he knows a writer who makes a living on treatments. I said it's bs because there is no market for treatments. They are just pitches. But of course he went on and on about this guy, who was clearly lying.

Not everyone can make a great pitch. One can be creative and not be a salesman. Hence, there is a market for treatments.

@@DAMON409 it's not a producer who buys a treatment, "BUD," but a director who has a vision but cannot put it into writing. It's a highly-specialized service, unlike the sardines-in-a-can work that you're used to. Have you not watched this video, "BUD"?
