How to be a RU-vidr: 1. Fail/drop out of college or never use your college degree 2. Start from nothing and grow slowly 3. Do something (game, animation, tutorials, etc.) 4. Get really popular and *dye your hair* (at some point) 5. .........
In 5 minutes you gave a better explanation of the video making process than all the other 20+ minute videos trying to teach people to do one of the things you discussed here. Kudos
Man, can we just thank Gingerpale for putting all of his time and effort into making videos for us... I mean, I can barely draw for goodness sake. Thanks GINGERPALE!
30 frams per second Videos is 5 minutes 51 seconds 5 minutes 51 seconds = 351 seconds 351×30= 10,530 pictures 10,530 FREAKING PICTURES PLUS LIKE 5 HOURS OF AUDIO AND EDITING I have a new found respect for you
This is absolutely amazing. It really motivates me to get back into animation. I'm an old man who used to submit regularly to Newgrounds with my crappy Wacom Graphite 3 drawing tablet. So many more options out there nowadays at very affordable prices... just hate step 1... WRITERS BLOCK!!!!! Anyway thanks for this video.
I wish I had time butt nope I wish I had money butt nope I wish I had a life butt nope I wish a had a soul butt nope I wish I had time, effort, life, and soul to finish this comment butttttt nope
I found this video later than it came out. Thanks a lot I'm getting a new tablet to draw and I'll start doing animation videos on my other channel Art With Pagz
thank you for making this video with a simple title. I'm making an animated pilot for a show but I don't know how to edit, how to add audio, any of that good stuff is just foreign to me. Now I can learn! :D
This is the most useful video for the overall stuff I’ve been looking for thank you ginger pale!! Within the next week I will be starting to animate. All I have to get done before that is the proper programs, and I already have the tools. And a bunch of scripts written out that I need to read through, edit, and sort for which ones I want to make into videos first. I’m having a super short into video that I have to re-record, and that shouldn’t take me long at all to make, as long as I use my animation software correctly. But I’ve only made a couple super short animations before, so I’ll have to learn
Here’s a tip to new you-tubers as-well: Be prepared to wait forever while uploading. RU-vid doesn’t care if it’s only a minute, it will take a while. No you can’t watch or do something else on that device otherwise you have to wait all over again or it will pause while you watch videos.
I really appreciate you spreading simple but effective audio practices. The thing that annoys me the most about smaller youtubers is how crappy their audio is. It just brings down the production value of the whole video and leaves a bad impression on the viewer cause it sounds less professional, especially compared side by side with the bigger, more experienced channels
Hey, Thanks for levelator, and for the noise reduction, actually, THANKS. That will make all a lot more easier... my animation program will most likely still be the same tho, i don't know a better free program than toonz.
Other guy: “Gingerpale I can’t read Gingerpale: “Well it’s also got a lot of pictures. 😂 yeah your gonna get a lot of animation information from images. 😅
Hey Gingerpale. I've been doodling on pen and paper for a long time and I've recently been looking at drawing tablet of sorts and learning to animate. I found your video very helpful, but I would like some advice. Tablet wise, what would you recommend starting with. Also not that I DON'T have a regular computer and just a laptop. Thank you so much if you actually did read this, but even if you didn't that's 100% fine too. Thanks again! :3 -A Fellow Artist (of sorts)
I like to stick to Wacom because they tend to be of good quality, but with a little research you might be able to find some which are cheaper while still of good quality. But otherwise the cheaper-end of Wacom Products is a good place to start :).
Thank you!!!! I didn't think you'd notice. I checked out same bamboo's but there are a bunch of different kinds like slate, splash, intuos, etc. and I'm confused. Any pointers on any of that... like which one's are for what or which one you have/had... THANKS!
Benjamin Colvin The Ugee m708 is really good for 50$. Its 10 × 6 inches so it's bigger than a wacom intuos draw. It's pretty cheap and it has 8 buttons
Benjamin Colvin I recommend and have the wacom intuos comic. The difference between all the different intuoses is that the free programs they come with. Comic comes with clips studio paint/pro and anime studio. It will take you a while to get used to it as you will need to look at the screen while drawing with the tablet. It’s one of the cheapest Wacom products ( 100$ i think ) and is really good. Good Luck !
Nice one Ginge! very informative. I like how if you don't feel you can give a certain topic the attention to do it justice, you just refer us to people who do/have instead of acting like a tail and pretending you're like the animation guru person.
Ok, this was probably going to be the best video I'm watching to How to RU-vid. But I don't have a microphone or pop thingy and I don't have a computer. And my parents don't want me to have a RU-vid. I just died. My first video will probably have a bunch a background noise, one like, and a bunch of cringey drawings I use to express myself. And no audio from me. And a bunch of writing on paper. Boy do I suck!
Gingerpale How to RU-vid settings The settings image at 4:56 is too small, so here are the settings word for word. I’m six months too late, but I think this video is really great and maybe I can help someone. Cheers. “Custom Settings- Windows Media Video V11 Template: RU-vid HD Notes: Use this setting for high quality HD video playback on a 3.0 GHz computer or better Format: Audio: 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 16 Bt, Stereo, WMA Video: 30 fps, 1920x1080 Progressive, 8.4 Mbps, Pixel Aspect Ratio 1.000 Include Audio Mode: CBR Format: Windows Media Audio 9.2 Attributes: 128 kbps, 48 kHz, stereo (A/V) CBR Audio tab” :)
Here's my steps to create an animation: 1. Come up with an idea. 2. Write the story. 3. Create the script. 4. Voice the characters. 5. Draw the storyboards. 6. Create the audio. 7. Draw the character designs. 8. Draw some backgrounds. 9. Animate everything. 10. Edit the final video. 11. Upload the video. 12. Start over again.
