Haven't seen a TW game I love in a decade, so have no reason to optimistically speculate. Certainly what you say is possible. I will hope for the best but assume it will be like more recent titles, superficial mechanics aside, and not trouble myself to get excited. CA would be dead to me if not for the mod community adding hundreds of hours of replayability, so I am grateful that the games are moddable in the first place. Your audio sounds good, a little more crisp.

agreed that the game could've had a bigger scope. I appreciate how CA have recently gone down the route of clever, specific historical settings (Boshin War, Migration Period etc), but I also miss the old days with more grand (albeit more historically vague) campaigns. It allowed you to create your own stories rather than being railroaded by the designer's story I would've liked just a big bronze age themed campaign. Minoans, Egypt, Hitties, Canaan, Nubia, Babylonia, etc. Just give me the bronze age in one big package. DLC can always delve into more specific historical scenarios like the bronze age collapse

Era campaigns? I'd prefer them to unlock parts of the map like Greece, Assyria and Babylonia for example for the grand campaign. And have at least 1 fleshed out campaign as opposed to 3 half baked campaigns

I think it's going to give a legendary hero feeling where your general will be maxed out facing level ones. I think if they did the political system like how they did in Rome one would fit perfectly for the campaign

tI have a feeling that Setnakte will be one of the character-based factions that will be in DLC. For those who don't know Setnakte was the father of Ramesses III and founder of the 20th Dynasty.

The problem is if they do do these expansions they are just going to make them extra DLC because they can get away with it. Thats probably why they limited the scope in the first place.

Ye it pretty much has the same issue that the original Medieval had where it was initially called Crusader Total War but it was changed to what we know now to reflect the bigger scope. Really hoping it isn't just Egypt and the rest of the factions are basically filler. I'd much prefer if it was just called Bronze Age TW or something, especially if they want to really go historical with this game.

It would be nice if they would make a Pike and Shot era total war. 16th/17th century era. You would have many empires to choose from and deal with, Spanish Empire, Swedish Empire,Ottoman Empire, Austrian Empire, France, Holy Roman Empire. English civil war.

you're way to optimist Gudea, the way they handled their last game which were not warhammer tell you all that you need to know about CA, I'm definitely more eager to see Dawnless days campaign finished, than to wait for another disappointment

Everytime i see gudea i click, but why a Iron Age Campaign? They should at least first include the Aegean and Mesopotamia as expansions first man.

Let's hope it's gonna be historical. ...alhtough I would not mind having every aspect from the egyptian mythology and folklore

At first, the name TW Pharaoh sounded quite bland, lazy and not inspired for me, and somehow still it is, BUT... it is actually suitable for a container of different era campaigns set in that geographical area. So, I'm sure that there could be more expansions/campaigns in the future, if the game sells well. And since this is a relatively low budget project (compared to Wh3 or a new Medieval), the selling threshold isn't impossible to reach.

It going to be like Troy. Pretty funny to play one time and then everybody forgett it...

The dung beetle in the trailer is fitting, cause the Bronze Age is poop compared to another Medieval or Empire.

nothing wrong with he setting CA can't pull it off and it's the Saga team creating it on a low budget where they can recycle assets already sounds like a great start....

I agree with your observations, I think Total War is at its best (for the main games at least) when it covers an expansive setting with a variety of factions and units. It's better to have more varied factions that are a bit shallow than to have several factions that are deep but similar to each other.

I think you VASTLY overestimate the masses' historical knowledge, since many people have forgotten their bible readings. As well as overestimating the masses' interest in this historical period. There's a reason why warhammer or any fantasy games in total war, have done better than the historicals, because generally people like fantasy/sci over history

This game is going to fail. It never should of been as expensive because it's a sagas title
