I have spot lock on a Ultrex, it's fine in the open water, but when you have swirling winds in a cove it can get pretty frustrating trying to stay on spot, when winds are blowing from different directions.
Dumb question, the buoy will move with the wind / waves. So would the trolling motor keep following the buoy as its moving so your not really staying in 1 spot?
No… The buoy had a line and anchor tied to it. When he tossed it in the water it automatically unravels the line. The buoy never drifted. Then he spot locked the boat near the buoy and the trolling motor will keep you very close to that spot lock location.
As far as I know there's 5 ways to activate spotlock; 1) On iPilot remote 2) iPilot Link 3) Foot Pedal 4) With app on your smartphone 5) On your fishfinder (Humminbird units only!)
