HOW WE BURIED OUR FALLEN MAU MAU HEROES IN THE FOREST - WANG'OMBE WA MATHENGE

Mau Mau veteran, Wang'ombe wa Mathenge, who joined Mau Mau fighters when he was a very young boy, tells of his experience in the war. He was sent on special missions by Dedan Kimathi, whose purposes was to grab cattle and other livestock from white farms with a view to chasing settlers from the farms. This was a guerrilla war after all. The special missions were also meant to secure food for the fighters. Many are times when fighters fell to colonial bullets. Wang'ombe reveals how they used to bury fallen fighters in a simple gesture reminiscent of both Christian funerary rites and the traditional Kikuyu burial in the forest. He says, as his parting shot, that those who love this country must always ask themselves how this country became independent. #kenya #africa #africanhistory #africanindependence #maumau #kikuyugospel #kikuyumedia #kimathi

The story of Independence should be part of Kenya's academic curriculum, if not for anything else but as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by these patriots!

British hegemony post independence may have forced Kenyatta into the pro colonical land policies that people like Baimungi died for. Kenyatta was to continue to pledge allegiance to the Queen per his independence day speech.

It's of GREAT IMPORTANCE to have a mau mau pak in Central Kenya to honor those who gave up their everything for our country's independence. Where their story can be animated using monuments for the future generations to appreciate where they have come from. An honest and elaborate movie can also be a good way to keep their memories for year to come. Thank you MauMau chronicles for publicizing the heroes of our nation.

😮 Bingo. Narumoro has an invisible sign written in RED. Risasi haibagui. Risasi looks for a body to kill. Risasi has power over man, yet man creates it to destroy himself. AI walking man out of his God given Eden back to dust. Man does not want life even though he has convinced himself that he wants to live forever and therefore created a god.Weird!

Can someone explain to our heroes about British hegemony and post independence land reform policies meant to keep colonial themes alive? There was also a clause read by Kenyatta on the day of independence that stated Kenya would "pledge allegiance to the queen"...what nonsence! Fake independence! These sort of paradoxes should be debated across schools in Kenya. God, I believe, has a way of satisfying sacrificial lives in ways man cannot understand, the truth is tht blood money cannot satisfy if you tried. Thank God for the likes of Evelyn Kimathis foundation (Dedan Kimathi Foundation) for tireless efforts in acquiring land for MAU MAU and minding the welfare of their impoverished families

@@maumauchronicles4296 in actuality all guns use some variety of gun powder, even today, so i don't know what you mean when you say only 17th century muskets required gun powder. you just cant operate a gun without it, so maybe do more asking of these questions in your interviews, in fact 70 years ago, all guns still used saltpeter unlike today where the more clean bur ning white powder replaced satpeter

And exactly what is wrong with that? Have you ever heard of child soldiers who are half that age? 14 years was the average age of initiation. Given the concept of muhingo, which blocked initiation for four years, some boys were circumcised early, sometimes at the age of 12 years, if they were big bodied. And how do you even trust the birthdate of such old people? No records were kept, remember?
