Steps...lucky you! I stick to my cal deficit at 1200 cals per day but I can't walk, not because I'm overweight but because of Arthritis at 50 years old. Well done. ✅
Who needs steps when you're counting calories like a pro, right? 1200 would be really hard for me (Rich) but I bet Robi could do it. We are both lucky that arthritis hasn't hit us, at least not yet. Good luck on your journey.
Getting older is scary I’m 44 parent of 2 daughters . I’m working to loose 50 pounds to better my health . I do a lot of walking n strength training 5 to 6 days week 😊
Y’all are so inspiring. You’re correct, after menopause nothing works but weight training. I work out about 20 mins at 5 am before work, not enough but it’s all I can fit in right now. I lift weights at home and watch Cheryl Coulombe on RU-vid. You might want to check her out, very simple and very encouraging for women over 50. I think you’ll like her. Loving your videos❤
I’m 62 and I’ve been going to bootcamp, a HIIT program since I was about 55. I became for active after age 40, I ran, walked, etc. until bootcamp and then indoor rock climbing so that helps with muscle and cardio but for weight loss or keeping it stable, I watch what I eat. I don’t eat food with unnatural sugar and I am vegetarian but may allow a little chicken very occasionally. Since I stopped processed sugar, I have loss to the weight I enjoy, 134 lbs at 5 ft. 4 and this is muscle mass also. Take a look at Lulu’s Way channel, she has done well with the weight loss. I enjoy both good weight and healthy muscle and heart.
I enjoyed walking with you two and learning a few new things. You got me started on “ X amount of steps per day” and I enjoyed it and saw results. I am back to walking now, but need to do it more often. Thanks again.
I recently discovered your channel and enjoying your content. I am a fit 61 year old but had meniscus surgery 3 weeks ago so currently recovering from that and doing the PT. Hoping to get back to walking the way I was (Typically 8K to 12K steps per day) I had been and exercising in a few months.
Congradulations RIch on the losing weight. I took Wegovy for 6 months and I am glad to be off of it. I lost about 40lbs and gained some of it back. I changed jobs and new job insurance doesn't cover Wegovy. I can't do physical activity because of my knees (trying to get in the profession my doctor told me it took a toll on my knees, bone on bone now). My sugar addiction is Reece's Peanut Butter cups. Damn I love those things! Are you still heading up what you were doing in the loo? Oh, and I do like watching your channel.
Losing weight, gaining some back, it's all part of the journey. Keep pushing through, and remember, a little indulgence in those peanut butter cups won't hurt! Moderation is the key. I head up security for a company in KC now. Thanks for watching the channel!
Your vid came across my feed and I really enjoyed it! I am really needing to get serious on weight loss and bought a new scale this weekend. I already knew my fat % was high, but it also says my body is 50 years old. I'm not 50 😂 I do have a back injury that has been limiting, but I'm also just lazy! I appreciate the positive realistic ideas you shared and the walk was nice. I have always been fortunate with weight but I am learning age is very unkind in that department.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching the video. We've definitely found that you don't have to follow some special program or pay to eat certain foods to drop a few pounds. Just realize that it takes time and be good with going down a little at a time by making small changes that you can stick to.
Great video! Love sustainable, that’s SO important❤️🥰 I’m 54, truly a recovering sugar addict and losing weight for health and longevity👍 I posted a video of what I eat in a day and in it is my sorbet I make and it’s SO yummy, basically frozen fruit and water, but you’d be AMAZED at how good it is! Since it’s helped me out with releasing sugar, I just thought I would offer it🥰🙏🏽 Keep up the great work, you earned a new subscriber!! You both look AMAZING…GenX all the way!!
Hey, thanks for the love and the sub! So awesome to hear that you're enjoying the content and finding new ways to stay healthy. Let's keep inspiring each other on this journey!
Was it hard to go to one meal a day? Do you not snack at all? I get up at 4:30 and have two pieces of sourdough toast with honey and then a meal at around 4:00, but I do have a yogurt around 8 am and a granola bar around noon. I am not sure I could do one meal a day with no snacks. My problem is movement. I was averaging around 1800 steps per day, very sedentary and am now up around 3500 steps a day, and know I need to increase that by a lot but that’s where I am. Having a few heart issues, high heart rate and BP, on meds for both, I need to do it more gradually I think, plus I am around 6-8 years older than you. 😊
It is not hard to do the one meal a day thing as long as I stay busy. Days when I am at work are easier than the ones at home. Also, I am not super rigid about it, I will snack a little but reducing the calorie intake overall is the key. Keep increasing the step count as long as your other issues will tolerate it. I often just go get some steps in when I would have previously went to find a snack. I probably averaged losing about a pound a week and there were entire months when I didn't lose any. Keep at it and you can find success!
Hi! Terrific video! Very intelligent and practical. Have you two tried jumping rope? I’m 63 and jump rope every-other-day and it’s so much fun! It’s also produced amazing reduction in total cholesterol and triglycerides. Give it a try! P.S It’s also inexpensive and convenient.
