I hope he's in charge of the real Vault Tec because we know what happened to the foolish Vault Tec Representative that trusted the people he worked for that he thought employees had a free pass to get into a local vault.
FrenchToast when you do something nice for everyone or do a certain something, A message in fallout 4 in the top right corner will pop up saying “Everyone liked that” it’s also a meme
@@beanboy9029 the BOS is one of the factions in fallout, they're considerably more militarised than some of the other factions, with things like airships, vertibirds, Liberty Prime and large amounts of power armour. They believe that the abominations created by the radiation should be eliminated such as Feral Gould and Super Mutants.
@@cyanoticspore6785 I think Vladimir was referencing the 2004 game Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, it was a critical failure, and went down as the worst game in the series. Fallout 76 has some major issues, but at least it can be enjoyable at times, something Fallout: BoS never was.
UPDATE!!! I was contacted by Chris Bernardo of the Wand Company. He watched both videos and gave detailed info on the whys, hows and what they are working on. I asked him if I can share the email and info and will hopefully share that soon. Unfortunately, the news is that the Rad meter will not be produced. He told me that regardless of the fan base, the retailers were not interested after the 76 problems. Also, it was hard to create due to the reasons I had mentioned. For this reason, I think it is time to move forward in making our own. I think we have very inventive people here and we can make something we can all do. I will be trying to collaborate with a few of our friends here to do this and hopefully share more later. Thanks.
Some things are just like nitroglycerin. don't try it at home and probably don't try it by yourself. ask your crush's boyfriend for help. Legal bullshit stuff: It was just joke, I don't recommend or suggest you to encourage your crush's bf or anyone else to perform dangerous things it may result serious harm.
Dont know why this is in my recommendations but I’m glad it is.. this is a channel you would think would have at least 1m subs.. Until you see it’s 700 I don’t understand why this channel is so underrated It’s a great channel
Seriously, your production values and scripting for this are fantastic! Well done, just picked up my Pip-boy, and started to look around to see what the community was doing with them. I do hope that you get the cred for making this. Great video, first of yours I've watched, loved it. Thanks mate.
IMPORTANT UPDATE!!! I just checked back in with the Wand Company about the "Radiation Sensor." They stated, "I'm afraid not at the moment. Plans are currently on hold as we're not sure if we have enough interest from our chosen retailers. We'll update our socials as soon as we have any news for you." I asked how we can help get this done. I'm not sure at this time if it is the Wand Company or certain retailers we want to pressure for this. I will update you when I know more. Stay Safe!
A real geiger counter might be possible, but only if you can find a way to integrate the detector in such a way that it doesn't mess with the actual surface itself. It would need to be beneath some really thin, preferably very, very light and non-dense material in order to pick up actual ambient radiation - or perhaps some sort of mesh. Not sure if there's space in the prop for that. The dial might be more of an issue though, I'm not sure if any geigers are still made with a physical needle, most modern ones just have a digital display for more accuracy. That would probably need some custom programming.
I watched this video a few months back when i was playing fallout 3. When i watched it i thought of how underrated you were. Imagine my excitement when i see your video blew up and is now in my recommended. You deserve it!
That was the idea. Check out our update video. Even bigger intro. We also talked with Chris Barnardo, the creator of the kit and the display arm that made it into the game.
I have no use for anything like this and have no idea how I got here. Yet, I watched the whole thing lol. I have to give you credit my friend. You are a craftsman. That I can respect. You could probably sell these things to rich kids for HUGE money too. 10k 15k. Paint job included. I have to add, I am an auto collision tech with 40 years experience and worked at a Mercedes/BMW dealer back 2009-2012. They were using those ribbon cables in their door panels instead of regular wires. For things like mirror power, window power, ect. They tear so easy it is unreal. I felt your pain there.
Yeah, I hate ribbon cables. I know you came here by accident, but we would still love to have you as a member of our community. So, please subscribe! We hope you'll hang with us.
This video is awesome. One note that I think would be cool is to take all the charging cables and make the pip-boy's computer cable (that the sole survivor plugs in to computers to hack, obviously) and make it functional and use that as the hub to charge the pip boy (Thus removing the need for the batteries for the radio or the requirement to remove the entire side to access the batteries. Plus it wouldn't be hard to add a small USB battery pack as a central energy source.). Also if you made the Metro hand crank generator you could abstain from the need of batteries entirely. Just as passing thought. Good luck and halcyon days.
Just wanted to thank you and let you know I had been planning to try and make similar mods to my own Pip-Boy 2000 as soon as I get one, I had a few slightly different options in mind for Screens and or speakers, and I plan to be designing and building my own Working Geiger counter mod that I plan to make compatible with the app if Bethesda doesn't release an official one. I will probably follow this video to some extent as a sort of reference/tutorial but don't worry I will be following many standard safety precautions including wearing Saftyglasses, fireproof gloves, and an acid/fire resistant smock. I also plan of replacing some of the standard plastic Pip-Boy 2000 parts with machined metal ones to customize the durability and design of My Pip-Boy. This is the first of your videos I've ever seen and its earned you a sub. :)
Sounds awesome. I will say, this build is really heavy on your wrist. It also feels like it is made of real metal. So, if you plan on wearing it be aware of weight. Make sure you share your finished product. Would love to see it.
this was very inspiring. i've been wanting to get into electronics because I like working with my hands and building stuff. I'd prefer it over software development. Thank you!
As an owner of one of the replicas, the lack of a fully working screen, radio etc on the Pip-Boy is the one disappointment. A fully working one would be great, and since the app is built out from Fallout 4, it would have been relatively easy to have one and connect it to the knobs etc in some form. As this proves: there was a viable screen hardware option too, and I personally would have paid extra for a fully functional one like this.
This video was super cool, For the longest time I hadn’t even played fallout but I was still obsessed with it, mainly the ost but I finally started playing the game and have dreamed of actually having a working Pip-Boy
Glad to hear it Runes! Hope you subscribed and hit that reminder bell so you will know when video 3 comes cout showing how to make the geigercounter, clock and holotape work.
24:32 *"Im gonna pull my knife out"* *_Pulls out a Security Baton_ Btw: Its funny how you say that you will use it as an alarm clock. *WHEN YOU HAVE A PIP-BOY!*
Me: *sitting on the toilet* RU-vid: heres a interesting video Me:*watches video* Also me: You should do a collaboration with a big tech youtuber to make this even better
That's the one thing I was most curious about, would it be possible to put a functional Geiger counter inside a PipBoy? Mostly because I am wondering how close we can come to having an authentic real version of the device, that is exactly like the one featured ingame.
@@YourGeekFix I wonder if 3D printing might be something to investigate for custom made parts. I've been working on it lately and it's really easy to make an object if you have some basic modelling and math skills.
@@YourGeekFix make what specifically? Are you interested in plastic parts? If you provide the measurements and shape of the item desired, I can give it a try.
There was this subtle nervous energy in this video despite your obvious professionalism and DIY know-how. It's like you were simultaneously determined and slightly afraid of the project. Then again, I don't do a lot of project kits, so I guess putting together an expensive kit while making up new pieces to fit in it is definitely an undertaking. I typically stick to those botany lego kits, haha.
The Pip-boy is powered by nuclear energy. But you could solar power it using a Solar Power Bank. It would connect to this build by USB. The smallest nuclear options are the SMRs, which would still be too big for the Pip-Boy. Thanks for the recommendation.
@@sammytimgaming2947 The sound is coming from the top module. It is possible to put 2 of those speakers in there. Right now, it's in the center. Due to the small area, it's questionable that stereo sound would be an improvement. The right speaker is for the radio only and is a part of that module. Right now, both speakers can work at the same time period.
I only now committed the time to beat Fallout 4 today and man is it cool to see stuff from the game, I don’t know why, but my interest in the game just magically peaked a couple days ago after being dormant for years.
I wrote them to ask about the ETA and they responded, "We don't have any solid plans or release dates just yet for the sensor add-on. We're hoping for release sometime (2020). Sorry I can't give much more information at this time. We're super excited for it." So am I, but waiting still.
Meanwhile i´m still waiting for someone to make a proper, working, fully functional Pip Boy with working Geiger Counter, Tape-deck and Radio, rather than a phone built into a prop.
