Please read: I have been watching so many van conversation videos and so many "influencers" who live in van. I am telling you the truth, you are the BEST!!! I have discovered you today and already watch so many of your videos. You explain everything so logically! Plus: I rarely comment on videos. But you guys deserve A big thank you! As being a PhD student, you give me hope to start my own journey ( yes!!!!)
Şirin Nazan ahhhh that’s so encouraging. RU-vid is time consuming but messages like yours motivate us. Thanks so much for the kind words. Very happy our fans are such amazing people.
Another thing is to have a remote job before you go on the road. I've been a remote worker for 6 years, my spouse for 4 now. We aren't fulltime vanlifers yet but we are constantly traveling and our clients most of the time don't even realize we aren't in city our businesses are "based" in let alone in the same country as them. The biggest issue we always have is making sure we have as many options as possible for internet connections.
Thank you for the 'you'll need to work your ass off' tip. This is such a reality -- you earn every single penny you make as a freelancer. My partner and I have been dying to do vanlife, but we can't afford the build right now (and don't have any family to help us just now) -- so now we're goal setting. Thank you, again! Love your videos!
Ah! Thanks Laura. We are indeed extremely lucky to have parents that helped with the build. We saved MASSIVE money on that (at least 15K CAD) and we're grateful for that! If we can help, we're here! Don't hesitate to reach out!
Being a teacher in the U.S. but having also grown up as a quebecois sur la Cote Nord,, I chuckled at your use of the word "prof". It somehow brought back so many childhood memories.
@@vanlifesagas Short version: Le côté de ma mère est québécois but my dad's American. Notre famille est née et a grandi au Québec, but came to full maturity after moving stateside.
Ok I know this might sound a bit strange especially from a person that English is not my mother language, but it is so refreshing to watch a video where the English language is not butchered!!! Good travels from Greece
@@vanlifesagas Yes you can. And its very safe here. And warm for about 6 months of a year!!!! I love Canada but i could not stay there, the cold was too much for me.So come on over...
Thank you for seriously posting this because I'm still working on my undergraduate and about to move in my van as a FT student. This is extremely informative and helpful.
As a recently retired school teacher, I have fallen down the rabbit hole of vanlife videos. Not sure if it's feasible for me - part time anyway - but you two make me wish I was 30-something again. You are fun to watch and have your heads on straight. Keep it up!
Money is the biggest hurdle before I can go full van life. I started a blog 2 years ago that started monetizing ( I juuuuust finished my bachelor in Marketing at Concordia) and I give myself 2 more years for it to become my full-time income before I can move in a van ( which I am saving for), while starting other niche blogs for growth.
THANK YOU! Thank you! thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to transition to the kind of life style you have and your advice was not only helpful, it gave me a starting point, tips on how to go about it and ideas on how to succeed. You're channel is so awesome, fun and informative that I subscribed with the first video. I award you The Most Informative Vanlife Video Award
I love this cause this can be applied in a million different ways. Like I want to travel some but make money and I could see these methods working even without the van
Absolute stars!! This channel is going to be big and you are both so ready for all of the success life will offer!! Happy weekend beautiful people ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Consider me entertained. Thank you for sharing your finance cheesecake! Despite it being Sunday me and my 3 daughters are all working today. Pitching, negotiating sales and writing for a creative project. It doesn’t end! But, we also love being self employed. Xx ✌🏻Jill xx
You both are AMAZING, HILARIOUS, and radiate good vibes! I bet there are no dull moments together. You both possess a good background, which becomes a benefit for both of you to travel while working. I always think of what job I could do while moving around and still figuring out what that job is. But seriously, you guys look perfect for each other keep it up! 👍💕 God bless you both 🙏🏻
Oh thank you. We put a lot of effort into those little animations. If you need help with business plans or other marketing stuff, please let us know. Dom can go for hours talking about those things.
Just love your videos. Love the miles, the laughter, the education. Living your best life right now. Also your music choices are the only ones I do not silence.
What a channel! You deserve way more subs than you have. The production is the best I have seen among van lovers. The chemistry, the personalities, I wish you guys all the best from Russia with love! I also don't skip the ads in your videos to make it a little bit easier for you to travel 😁 I hope your channel will become big soon and you will have another amazing stream of income
Marie is a French teacher so I wil continu in French :)).
You 2 are what I call organic. Real, honest and wisdom. For a retiree, a old lady with a pup, would love to see the state's before I leave this earth, in Texas, the beaches are on the top of my list! Y'all are blessed ❤✌
Aha! L'explication, parce que personne, personne ne commence une RU-vid Channel with such quality from the very first upload. Your content, including today, is consistently excellent, perhaps achievable by a newbie. From a technical standpoint however, the seamless transitions, choice of fonts, your illustrations, motion graphics, color adjustments/luts, sound effects and music, pas de chance. Very, very well-done and enjoyable videos, thank you!! I am happy for you both that you have achieved this way of living so early in life. I did the 'stack-and-go'. I worked for forty years in order to travel for the last five!!
That comment is NICE! Dom is very talented as well and you noticing means a lot. Where did you travel to during those 5 years? Sounds like a sweet thing.
@@vanlifesagas I have dual citizenship. Five years ago I sold my house in Atlanta, bought a truck and fifth wheel trailer then began following the sun. I summer in Niagara On The Lake, Ontario, then spend my winters in the warm Southern States, hopefully with many years to come.
Very, very interesting! Of course I wondered about how you are able to do this lifestyle, so this answered many questions. I suspect you understated the difficulties of developing contacts, learning their needs, presenting your capabilities/concepts while convincing them that what you’re offering is something they need. But then again Dom got his degree in advertising, marketing and selling so he has the expertise to accomplish these challenges, although there would be some amount of work that’s an investment without a payoff. This video also explains why your videos are so professional and engaging, beyond your considerable charm. What mystifies me is how you have any time left to enjoy yourselves!
Good question Carol. Truth be told, we don't have enough free time for ourselves. That's something that we're trying to work on. Working online, we're always tempted to go check our emails and respond to clients as fast as possible, even in the evening.
New to your channel - Sooooo great to find awesome Canadians online. Hello from Ottawa! And thank you for sharing your practical and non-gimmick tips. Cheers!
Monika Step We are from Ottawa too!!!! Hi! Thanks for your comment: it’s really appreciated. We like giving out useful tips and tricks. Glad you liked it!
I have recently started following you two and I am IN LOVE! I’ve never loved watching a couple this much. You guys are fun, honest, and open. I’ve enjoyed the few videos I’ve watched and can’t wait to watch more ! 💕☺️
You are amazing, you make things looks like they are so easy. But when I look a bit more, so much have been put in your videos, various camera angles, additional supporting informations, etc,. Despite you are able to keep a very decontracted attitude and show the freshness of the spontaneity is obviously well prepared and kinda part of your branding now. I am setting a reminder, just to check your latest one's.
Seriously guys first video and I'm impressed! I love how so well spoken you both are and you make me so proud that you are from Quebec! Hello from Montreal!
You guys are AWESOME!! Seriously. You both are so creative. You've earned the beautiful lifestyle you're living. I don't know what the future holds for you, but I'm sure it's going to be GREAT! 😊
Great content and video. Thank you! This was very helpful. You two are also great friends and partners. It put a smile on my face! Stay well and safe! Thanks again! 😀
Love the video and you are both so funny :) we are preparing for Van life as well May 1st 2021 can't wait. For the last 3 years I was working as self employed, while I am still working part-time, It got to the point when the money from the business will support us, but I am not ready to give up my part time just yet, is all planned for 15th March... roll on 2021. Stay safe on the road and keep up with the amazing video, hugs from Wales, Adriennn
Very interesting and entertaining. Thanks for sharing. After 32 years teaching in a public school, I'm retiring in June 2021 and hitting the road. Although I've got several revenue streams, I'd like to work online. Possibly teaching English as a second language. Look forward to following you. ☺🇺🇸
Wow, you two exude good vibes. And you complement each other's personalities kinda perfectly. Thanks for sharing this helpful info. I'll be sure to tune into the next video, and the one after that....etc .etc.
I would LOVE to see you guys film an honest working day and what that looks like. A little sneak peak into the days that dont make it to the instagram account. Absolutely love you guys!!!
You have beautiful chemistry together , love how you're both so genuine , nice to hear about your background you must be very Proud of one another ....lovely video Thank you 💗
Have you guys ever thought about doing a workshops to help teach others how to do social media? I like how you guys do your videos and how organize, but also authentic you guys are.
You guys are great to watch. My wife and I watch regularly. One thing that seems to be missing from your income streams is RU-vid monetization and affiliate program income. You have 24,000 subscribers and have lots of views for each of your videos so I assume you would be making a modest income from those two streams. I would be interested to hear what that annual or monthly income is. Keep up the great work and happy camping.
We didn’t have that many followers when we first posted that video. Since then we started the monetization program, but still struggling to make good money with everything on here...
What a channel! You deserve way more subs than you have. The production is the best I have seen among van lovers. The chemistry, the personalities, I wish you guys all the best from Russia with love! I also don't skip the ads in your videos to make it a little bit easier for you to travel 😁
Wow, thanks for that comment! We understand RU-vid is a long and tedious road to having a lot of subscribers. But we are very patient! Let us know what you think of the other videos!
We’re from Ottawa/Gatineau. Tips for downsizing... Dom and I are REALLY minimalistic to begin with. When we see things that we didn’t use/wear in the last month (if it’s not off season) it’s out.
Vanlife Sagas oh nice!! We’re about 2 hours outside of Toronto! I love the one month limit! Totally going to adopt that! also just watched your 10 must have gadgets!! awesome!!
Feels good to know I'm not alone out there! Cheers!
Hello from Paris, and please come for a meal if you ever decide to come visit France. I'm enjoying your videos very much. Thank you for sharing. I plan to go on the road at one point in my life even if it's going to be when I'm 60...... I love watching videos like yours, helps me understand what to do, how to do it and start planning.....
Bonjour Carmen!
Love your videos, you make me smile! Thanks for sharing this content. Something we have definitely been think about for when we decided to hit the road full time in the future
Wow, such unique backgrounds; by default I assume remote workers are techies. Marie's income as a PhD student is extraordinarily impressive! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I would also love to hear about your internet situation. I work remotely for my current job but have to be in video meetings all day. I'm ok with paying a lot for internet - but could I even buy enough bandwidth to do my job?
Hey thanks! ❤️ I’m doing some research I’m 16 and for years iv been researching ways to make money on the road and vanlife itself. I am completely in love with the thought of being free and not being stuck in one place. Not knowing where your going next week or who you will meet❤️
Also I like the thought of being minimalistic, my whole life has been cluttered physically and emotionally. I have always been frowned at for throwing things away or getting rid of anything old and not needed.
love watching you two! practical info along with wonderful personalities! this video had some unexpected and SUPER helpful advice on starting freelancing business .. who knew we would get a lesson on building a business plan!!?? thank you so much.. really helpful !! Blessings ...
I'm not surprised at all that you guys are successful. You have wonderful personalities and great speaking skills...and you are funny. Very witty. You're approachable and make friends easily. This was a very informative but mostly an enjoyable video. I'll be 74 next month (June 2021)...just realized this video was uploaded almost a year ago. I'm retired from the U.S. Air Force and now retired from civilian work life. With my monthly income I will be able to live comfortably on the road and live in my van. After traveling world wide in the military and working jobs in the Pacific islands it's time for me to visit or revisit all lower 48 states, Alaska and your beautiful country of Canada.
This is so awesome! I'm a freelance ESL teacher, and I've been doing it for 2 years, but even though I got certified and everything, its not anywhere near sustainable. SO I just started freelance ghostwriting, and I'm really excited about it. It's slow going right now, but I'm really hoping it takes off.
It so interesting to see these types of videos now that I am studying entrepreneurship and media technology (film, photography, coding websites etc.) in university. If I saw this video a year ago I would not understand as much as I do now. Great video as always!!
@@vanlifesagas I'm studying in Sweden, have recently finished the first year! Probably to have my own company (still trowing around a couple ideas) and probably find a stable but fun position at other companies before that. I am only 20 so I still have time to figure things out!
Oh my gosh! It's so good to know that life on the road is possible when getting a PhD. I'm about to enter a masters program in the states, so the next two years my finance and I are going to build our bus and then travel. I'll have two years of classes when I enter PhD but maybe I could do them remotely? Did you still have courses to take when you entered your PhD program and were you traveling at the time? I'm pretty on the fence about getting a PhD and continuing to postdoc and professor. My discipline is Astronomy. It's pretty competitive and super difficult. I feel like stepping away and working for non-profits or renewable energy companies or something else positive for the world might be better for me. 🤷♀️
Do it girl! It's a lot of work, but so rewarding! To answer the question, only started vanlife when my classes were over. It would've been difficult otherwise.
You guys are amazing AF!!! I am a new subscriber but I love that you guys are so connected and you are willing to share you information and knowledge with us. Love you guys vibe so hard 💕
I just love y’all and all your videos! I want to get out on the road, myself, but I’m quite a bit older than you. My idea is to convert a shuttle bus and take it all around North America doing virtual field trips for students, both those in school and homeschooled students. I’ve been a tutor since I was ten years old in 1969, mostly special needs students. I also homeschooled my own kids as well as several other kids. I’m wondering if you could think of ways I could monetize this journey? After all, you are a teacher and a marketer, so this is right down your alley!
Theresa Hartman I LOVE YOUR IDEA! I can see that really working for you, especially since you are an educator, and so many students are not able to travel.
Wow! You are amazing. Converting a van to serve others, you are beyond this world. Honestly, tutoring on the road could be feasible. I would only wonder about clients/students. How about creating some sort of library or reading circle in the van and reach out to schools? You could go around the province and teach/read from the van 🤷♀️
Kim Japhet Or maybe you could build some kind of conference for kids about different topics on the road, like stories or little skits, and you could tour schools? We have friends who do that with music for elderly people. They drive around in their van and play on their rooftop.
What great ideas! I have tutored remotely many times, and I am great a putting presentations together, too! So awesome!

Hellooooo from Quebec 💖 I just discovered you and oh my... I love you guys so much! I'm a mom of 2 dreaming of vanlife with them and i'm also a copywriter!
You guys are amazing individuals and together UNSTOPPABLE. I'm so impressed. God Bless, take good care and stay healthy. I enjoy getting to know you, so thank you for the smile on my face today.
I watch many videos. I have subscribed to just one. Vanlife Sagas. Thank you for making me smile and for teaching me along the way. Congratulations and job will done.
Ashley Engel ohhh thank you !! Clothing, my pants/shorts are from Les Basics. Shirts are often from H&M, men’s section lol. Jewelry is mostly from cheap stores, wouldn’t recommend them. They turn yellow and make my fingers go green lol.
Your very fortunate to have careers like those I can’t full time Rv until I retire because I’m a contractor for renovations but good luck to the both of u
Bonne continuation!
Great video, really enjoying your content so far. Being freelance seems to be one of the easiest ways to live on the road. I've been freelancing for 21 years, and have decided to go full on nomad in a year or so. I just have some personal and business things to wrap up and get into place first though. :-)
You two are a breath of fresh air! :) Love watching your fun and informative videos! May I ask... how do you get internet/WiFi connection for work needs while on the road?
