For me I’m finding for 3 tickets from Spokane to Hawaii is 1200 but hotels for 4 days goes up to 1500 and we’re also going to Pearl Harbor so 1650. And plus McDonald’s for 4 days is 1730 plus other renting for scuba gear. Is like 30 or 50 dollars so like 1780 and suveiners like 20 1800 plus any other suitcase on the plane so 1850
As stated at 1:11 .. I am just confused on how exactly you didn't "travel hack" if you used an airline credit card? Maybe we define things differently but I thought that is what is explained at the beginning of the video. However, I do appreciate the tips.
I know a lot of people who travel hack open up specific credit cards and then close them to get the points and book partial points one place and partial the other... I guess in my mind that's what I associate with travel hacking but I guess ours was a more simple version of it. :)
So you basically were gifted your hotel stay using your parents points and used dads usaa benefit for rental car and used credit for flight. None of this video is helpful for the average person looking for tips to budget a trip .
“We only spent $1,880” -not everyone has a military discount -not everyone is Hilton members -not everyone has USAA -not everyone has/nor wants an Alaskan airlines credit card Lol Jesus I was excited about watching this video but now I just got hella depressed lol
Not really fit for everyone but everyone has military discount or parents to gift you hotel credits. Looking for A video where you actually paid all of it not mommy and daddy. Lol
@@TheBudgetingWife yeah I'm not trying to be rude but this vacation cash value is about 3k. You got all kinds of free stuff. Should delete video or put mew tittle
Really great video, you really described everything in such a good way. I travel a lot and don't do travel hacking either. I buy my tickets early and still have to figure out if the price is good, it is comfortable enough for me to purchase and feel ok. But I think I will track daily to see how much the lowest it can get so next time i can know what is a good deal or not.
I appreciate that you explained that you use credit cards responsibly. I also use credit cards and we are now debt free even though some of my debt was credit card debt. I feel it is super frowned upon in the debt free community so I appreciate your honesty. Although I'm confused on a couple of things: 1st is on how you define "travel hacking." You said you didn't do any travel hacking for your trip but to me using a airline credit card benefits is inclusive of travel hacking. I would also consider using your parent's points at the hotel as travel hacking, maybe we just see it differently. 2nd is how you calculate the total cost of the tickets. I understood that the cost of the ticket for both of you was $800. Then you called for rate reduction credit within 24 hours it was $100 less, then later you got more rate reductions but that was credited toward a future flight, but you stated that you paid $500 some odd dollar... so confused.:z I guess I'm wondering how much out of pocket you paid for the airfare out the door for this trip and what the math looked like to go from $800 to approx $500.
This isn’t even a legit “budgeted vacation” if you are calculating your parents giving you a free hotel stay and using things like a military discount.
Hi! I love watching your videos and getting tips on saving money. My husband and I just became debt free and are now taking trips (just like ya'll! Haha) before we start saving for a house and car. I was wondering if you could do a video on how you will be saving for a house and car? Thanks!
