How do we survive winter van life? Eat healthier, get some Huel - jlinks.io/kingi....
There are many problems with taking a renovated van into the winter - the arctic circle to be precise!
Living in a vehicle isn't always amazing, in this video we'll show you the realities of van life. The majority of the days we experience below freezing temperatures, extreme snow fall and lately extreme storm winds which have evidently broken our van literally into pieces.
Sub zero temperatures have got our water pipes frozen and have burst our heater heater pipe - so no shower or washing the dishes!
Temperatures have been as low as -22 and if it wasn't for our trusty diesel heater, we'd be snowmen.
Winter camping isn't for the faint hearted, there are many problems living off grid, we've watched everything break with a hope that tomorrow will be a better day!
Also did I mention, WE MADE IT TO NORWAY!!! The mountains are UNREAL!

Your channel is fab and you two are just amazing. You make every trip so interesting and make me want to go there. Watching another family of seven in a ‘tin can’ heading for Norway. Theirs looks a nightmare and they are nowhere as prepared as you two and all they seen to show is hours and hours of driving. @@kingingit you guys should get kitty litter for when you get stuck! Us Canadians keep some in our vehicles. Seems strange but it works! Also spinning the tires makes it worse. You gotta rock the vehicle back and forth and turn your wheel slightly when you go forward. Hope this helps!

Guys if you struggle to find camping spots and you're missing hot showers then you're more than welcome to stay at my campsite in Storfjord! I know most campsites are closed right now but we're still here and open and my polar pup misses having loads of guests over!! Hi Nutters , Many many many many years ago when I was a lot younger and still had supple skin . I live in Bedford Library Bus , where I’d get up a 6am to light the fire , so when I actually got up , it would be toasty warm . Another problem would be trying to stop the Calor Gas from freezing - trying to shake the slushy gas just to be able to make a cuppa tea (I tried so many ideas on trying to not let the gas bottle freeze) …. Those winter days in Jan/Feb , I do not miss - Now I’m older , wiser (lol) … I have come to appreciate the little luxuries in life - like hot running water from a magic tap , flushing toilets - wow what an invention and a warm comfy bed (where I don’t have to go to bed in longjohns and a woolly hat in ice crispy sheets)… enjoy this crazy van life while your still young and able , and remember this …I’ve still got the darn kettle on , when the heckers are you coming over …. I love this cozy, slow-paced vlog. I'm in Calgary, Canada, so we are also in the long-nights season, which I absolutely LOVE. Especially with chronic illness, it has been such a treat to nap peacefully around 4pm when the sun is starting to set, rather than trying to get a nap in during the summer when it's so bright and noisy and hot! :)

Canadian here and just keeping a vehicle running at -25 or -30, yes Celsius, takes a lot of planning and effort. When I was in University I lived in Norway for a semester in Trondheim. We were only around an hour away from the Swedish border and there was a free bus that went from our town, over the border to a Swedish supermarket, we'd run in, fill our big blue ikea bags full of groceries and head back to Norway, it helped save a bit of money 😅

I'm afraid that when you come to Canada next winter you're going to get similar sticker shock on food prices here. I swear everything is 30% more than a year ago. :-( Anywho, thanks for the entertainment and can't wait to see K & N next week! Woot! Woot!
