This explains why my mum taught me to be so frugal. She lived thru 2 WWs in England and had the brightest optimism. It was remarkable. She taught me to see something beautiful in every day, so that I could carry myself thru challenging times. She saw deprivation, death, suffering and agony...but her spirit of goodness carried her thru those trying times. I'm proud to be British, and yes, I can even sing, especially in these good times. Had she not been so optimistic and resilient, I wouldn't exist.
@@theculturedthug6609 it was a programme for schools TV and was one episode a week we would then be set a task for example we had to imagine what it was like to spend the night in an air raid shelter. I remember dressing up in old clothes and being evacuated by steam train it was fun
Kids had their santa yrs robbed by Hitler, i know its not about gifts but to little Edward i feel sorry for, yet it made kids grateful, today kiids take alot for granted, but it can all go away
