People are quick to say that they'd rather be judged by 12, but they don't necessarily put a lot of thought into HOW they'll be judged.
How a person presents themselves both physically & digitally can influence people's opinions, including jurors.

Talking about the concepts of self defense, EDC, and concealed carry through the concepts of boundary-setting and bodily autonomy is simply brilliant. In general, people are more likely to engage in a conversation when you speak their language and connect to what they value. For folks who aren't in the "gun community," it's easy to see how poorly "shall not be infringed" would perform when compared to trying connect on the fact that bodily autonomy and healthy boundary-setting is important, and that regular Earth people do sometimes find themselves in situations when others violate those boundaries and bodily autonomy. Having this shared foundation that both sides can agree on, you can then proceed to discuss what options exist to combat those who seek to violate those boundaries via a force continuum: MUC, flashlights, OC Spray, firearms, etc. Love this channel!

Here is one success I had. A few years back, there was some sort of bill in Congresss that failed to get passed regarding healthcare and mental health. As a result, there was this soundbite that emerged that went something like, "the mentally ill can buy a gun, but can't get healthcare, welcome to America!" And there were a lot of my otherwise tolerant, but anti-2A friends who repeated and reposted that sentiment because they didn't like guns. It was amazing how many people, when confronted on whether they thought mental illness was a dangerous public health threat, immediately changed their tune once they realized how ableist it sounded. It was a genuine cognitive dissonance moment where their deeply held anti-gun belief had them saying things they'd otherwise never agree with. After those conversations, a lot of my anti-gun friends understood the nuance of mental health and guns.

Love to hear it! Especially when you look at what in recent history was previously considered "mental illness"

Andrew Branca covers another important and recent development is that your case may catch the interest of a DA seeking to make a name for themself. That or they may choose to prosecute simply because they see you don’t have the resources to defend. The trend he said is the ride becomes the punishment.

Related, I have another issue with court proceedings. Self-defenders have to make decisions in milliseconds under extreme stress. They're going to do what they instinctively feel that they need to do in that moment. Prosecutors have all the time in the world to go frame by frame and critique every move. Lawyers who can refute that are expensive.

There are basically a few types. The ones that boast the “Rather be judged by 12” type. Those of us that have been Mirandized on a Federal or State Inquiry and then those that listen to us that have been in the hot seat. You can do whatever you want but as an old Captain use to say better make sure your career and bank account can handle it!

12 people to stupid to get out of jury duty. I've heard this, but when i got on a jury i was shocked most of them didnt care about the case and they wanted to be done and out rather than actually do the job.
