Good shit John this exactly why I ignore fans and listen to professionals and experts, Fans are spoiled and entitled and think they know better than the experts and professionals, JJ deserves a chance and was coached by one of the greatest coaches of all time, He was wanted by the NBA champions Celtics 2 years ago to be on their staff, So what he hasn’t been a HC doesn’t mean he can’t coach and doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a high basketball IQ! Let’s go JJ prove the clowns wrong!!

Not clowns ..they were just basing facts on previous Hirings...we buy cars based on how well the ratings are, folks don't go buy the worst rated vehicles some do of course because well.. . JJ being under Coack K has no more bearing than Fisher spending 9 years with Phil...two seasons with Sloan, one with Carlise olaying in 8 NBA Finals having 5 rings he too was considered smart with a very high IQ. ....hope it works out...but there will be growing pains..

Your comparison with cars would make sense if you were looking to buy a car with "experience" and decided not to buy a car because it's a new one. Redick's rating is actually very good, he's just "a new car". 😏

If JJ can get Rondo on his staff (Bron has been encouraging him to get into coaching for years) that handles the AD equation of things and helps immensely in getting the respect of the locker room. Plus that’s at least 3 guys with known high basketball IQ in the locker room (including Bron).

Always thought (from inside talk) they planned to hire JJ,. the UCONN guy was a McGuffin. The Lakers stated at the outset they wanted someone who could grow with the franchise, and train young players over time in a designed program. He was always the 'new' fit.

There's no question JJ is a brilliant basketball mind and has the work ethic to leave no stone unturned to succeed in the job. It's about surrounding him with an experienced staff that can translate those great ideas into strategy into tactics and execution. He'll need a good, a very good player development coach and a damn good scouting staff to game plan. The team needs to fill a few holes like an athletic rebounding, shot blocking big, get whole as a healthy team and utilise that depth in the regular season. He's got to prioritize the regular season a lot lot more than the previous coaches.
