1 small correction- Steve Ishmael wasn't on the 2018 Syracuse team. He was on the 2017 team that beat Clemson. Jamal Custis was the #1 WR on the 2018 team.
Hey Bud i dont know if you answer youtube comments. But arent you the guy that said Syracuse is one of the worst power 4 jobs? You do have a lot of evidence that suggests that. My only thing is i think this program has a better chance to win if they have a North East centric coach who can recruit. Also i dont know if you are aware but if you currently look at the JMA Wireless Dome it has been completely re did. Every bench has been replaced by real chairbacks, It has a center hung Jumbotron. The Wi Fi is the best of any college stadium in America with leading technology. Ohh and btw they are building their new football complex that will be completed next year. They also have a sweet indoor. So while you have a lot of evidence to say, it "was one of the worst" that is no longer the case. Also, take a look at prior accomplishments in the history of the program. This program has just feel off and is about to rebound. Good interview.
it was a bad job, to be fair. syracuse has had pretty poor recruiting power and has only managed to be bowl-adjacent for like a decade plus. tbh we struck gold getting fran brown and kyle mccord. hoping brown's plus record on recruiting helps build out this team and the first year results look attractive.
SYR expecting a 9 or 10 win season and in the race for the ACC Champ game??? You guys know that you only won 6 games last year and got your coach fired?? Sure you miss Clem and FSU but 4 of the other teams you play are in the Top third of the ACC!! 8 wind might be realistic tho..
Using the 2023 team to predict the 2024 team's results is silly. They have all new coaches and substantially overhauled roster. I'm not sure they'll win 9 or 10 games, but it's definitely a possibility. They have the best tight end room in the ACC, a top 5 backfield, and probably 3 or 4 NFL players on defense. They don't play Clemson, UNC, Louisville, or North Carolina. I can't find more than 4 losses on their schedule.
Had no QB and top receiver was out half the year and Oline was atrocious. You upgraded all the positions and get bigger on the D line. Yeah I think that adds a couple more wins
