@Masskular
@Masskular Год назад
@@roncoleman6693 Me personally I don’t use it for storage, even though it’s highly possible. I don’t like the idea of having to climb inside my sleeper every time I need something. I kind of treat it like my bed at home. I don’t get inside of it with the clothes I’ve had on during the day. So just to get something, I would have to take my clothes off just to get whatever it is. That’s just me personally. You certainly could use it for all of those things. You could even mount a TV, refrigerator, microwave etc inside.

@Masskular
@Masskular Год назад
Honestly I've been inspected and didn't have an issue. The box falls in line with the requirements to be considered a sleeper. The trick is this really, if they ask you if it's a sleeper I would say no. I also don't log sleeper berth on my logs. I just say off duty. A lot of times they try to trip you up on the words and their definitions.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Imagine a biker on a Harley with the soft but tough leather. That’s the kind of material the vinyl is. I brush up against it all the time with bare skin. @@Masskular does the loss of load space not become an issue for you? And did you have to cut through the rear cab wall? Just curious, I'm from the UK. Our bodies are all designed around pallets and how many pallet spaces we can fit on so to cut in to the body wouldn't really work out. Most trucks just have sleeper cabs or roof top sleeper pods. (nothing on the grand scale of US sleeper's I should add)
@Masskular
@Masskular Год назад
@@rosscopeeco69 Hey, so I technically didn't lose any space because the box i put the sleeper in was 28 feet. I only made the sleeper 2 feet. Here in the states the most common straight trucks are 26 footers and 24 footers. Now i did lose some weight capacity, but I technically don't like to run heavy anyway. I can only carry 8300 lbs with this current setup. And yes i definitely cut the rear cab wall to create the space. I actually considered one of those roof top sleepers you are speaking of. The prices the places were charging, was the main motivation for me to attempt this.

Dont you lose freight space by having a sleeper installed in? Instead of fitting in 12 pallets now you can fit only 10 pallets?
@Masskular
@Masskular Год назад
So this particular box was a 28ft box, so I still have 26 ft of space left. So technically I can still fit 14 if I pinwheel them or 12 if I just put them in the regular way. Now before this box I had a 26 ft box with a sleeper. That only gave me 24 ft of space. But I still was able to fit 12 pallets. Most people go wrong because they want 4 ft of sleeper space, when only 2ft is really necessary.
