today we are doing a update review of the howa hera h7 rifle. I've had alot of questions from the first video on how this rifle shoots and how it groups. after having this rifle for awhile now. you can see the results. we used 6 different types of ammo on this rifle and were very surprised with the outcome.
6.5 creedmoor heavy barrel and in carbon fiber wrapped barrel both in a 24 inch barrel
the 308 comes in a a heavy barrel at 24 inches, a 24 inch barrel that is carbon fiber wrapped, and in a standard barrel.
HERA H7 SERIES
The Hera Arms H7 Chassis is a modern and easy-to-use stock system for the Howa (short action) system. Made of fiberglass-reinforced polymer, aluminum V-block and aluminum forestock, this stock system comes with two spacers, a polymer cheek piece support and an AICS-compatible ,5 round magazine. The H7 stock system has M-Lok mount points for mounting various accessories.

Nice review! This rifle sounds like a really great deal for what you're getting. Just so I understand the barrel selection for a .308...you can get a 22" or a 24" in either heavy or standard weight? Howa's website doesn't really explain that very well. Also, about the rifle's total weight...you stated that it weighs 2kg. It has to weigh more than that. That's only about 4.5 pounds which is awfully light. Howa's website states that it weighs 11.5 pounds and that sounds very heavy.

@@UltimateArms That's cool! 9.5 lbs. sounds way more on the money. I have to say that your reviews and comparisons have been helping me tremendously in my rifle buying decision. Many reviewers are all about shooting the rifle don't talk about its features and why they are important or not. You offer a lot more insight into the rifle. I already am!

Picked up this chassis in black a week ago and dropped my .223 HOWA 1500 straight in. Put a 10.25in MDT Arca rail on which fits nicely. Very impressed for the price. Definitely agree about the angle of grip, it feels nice but for me a vertical grip would be better. Thanks for your review 👍

I bought the H7 .308 carbon barrel. I also purchased a Bog deathgrip tripod very similar to yours and i haventt used it much yet but i am worried if the tightened pressure of the vice on the handguards would effect the aluminum bedding at all. Is that a concern do ya think

nope not at all. i just have it tight enough to hang on to the rifle. you would be surprised on how little pressure you need it to be to grab the rifle. the other thing you can do is put a arca rail on the underside of the rifle, and use that. also the bedding is more in the back side where the fiber stock and the aluminum front meet. so it wont affect it. thanks for the comment and question, hope that helps you out some. ! thanks again

What would you pick between the 22" standard barrel and 24" heavy barrel in 6.5 CM and why? It's my understanding that those are you two non carbon fiber options and I'm trying to decide between them. Thanks. Edit: I should add I'm leaning toward one of these over the Savage 110 Magpul Hunter or Savage 110 Tactical. This will be my first rifle that I'm going to shoot at further distances as my suppressed Ruger American Ranch in 300 Blackout isn't going to win any long distance competitions.

good day. so the 22 inch barrel is a standard barrel which would be more of a hunting rifle, with a more contour barrel so it would be lighter and easier to carry around hunting. where the 24inch barrel is a heavier barrel and would be better suited for doing long range or prs style shooting. if you were planning on doing that i would go with the heavy barrel because it would be able to handle the 10 round groups, you would be doing in prs or long range, where as the lighter barrel would heat up to fast. hope that answers your question? and please dont forget to subscribe!! thanks again.!!
