Just for the record, he did die from Lymphoma, not aids. He also had no problem with his kissing scenes like someone reported. For the ones who have negative things to say, these are FACTS!! He was my uncle and he is still very much missed. RIP Howard!

+Courtney Fields I was on the classic TV site and there was a tribute to Carroll O'Connor and his son Hugh. Of course Howard's name came up The usual media info was mentioned. He died from aids or in one comment, he died from cocaine. I explained your comment I read on here and copied it and posted it so they would see the facts. I hope you don't mind because it needed to be seen. Howard was a wonderful actor and is terribly missed. It makes me sick the way the media puts their own spin on things and the people believe what they read. This is a comment a lady left below your's and my comment....Robin Franklin So sorry for you & your families lost. I enjoyed watching everything he was in, he was a very strong actor, and he is truly missed.......We all feel that way..Bless your family...

The first time I saw Howard Rollins Jr., he had a starring role in a weekly PBS television series called "Our Street". I believe this was his film debut in the 1970's. I was impressed with his acting ability at the time and was not surprised to see that he was offered starring roles in the movies such as "Ragtime", Soldier's Story", and the television series "Heat in the Night" It was sad that he passed away at the peak of his career.

One time he was bigger than Denzel Washington. He was one of the best black actors Ive ever seen. He reminds me a lot of Sidney Potier. He was such a good dramatical actor. If you notice in the video you are watchin of him he looks a little sweet. Got his hair slick back, makeup on his face. looks like he might be wearing eyeliner. But hey back in the 80s just about a lot of male celebrities looked gay.
