obbyblobby yep. those apple IIGS machines were beasts..... lol. that wasnt a boom though that was a birth. the boom was toward the late 90s. when computers became usable to everyone, cell phones showed up on the reg, and the internet took off. i would say after about 2000/01 is when humanity lost its innocence. 80's and early 90's computer technology changed society in some ways but not like the turn of the century boom. it certainly didnt change the social aspect of it. it was truly the last age of innocence. no face time, no texting, etc. we are witnessing the first time in our known history that the world is connected in an instant. yes, i know about the phone and the telegraph you dont have to ask if ive heard of them. my mom had a cow bell on the back porch she would ring when i had to come home. if i was a kid today she wouldnt have that.
I think so many people here miss the 90s because they were children and remember not having to deal with the shit they have to deal with today but people older remember that it’s not so different from today.
He didn't do so well when he did "TTS" with Fallon recently. When Howard talked about what a great communicator Trump is the audience started booing. He was noticeably uncomfortable like I'd never seen him before.
People hated the 90s while they lived them, longing for the 80s. Now people living in the 2000s want the 90s back lol. Just enjoy the times at hand, before they're gone.
And turning to his band leader for confirmation on whether it's okay to talk about other black people. I loved Branford's reactions, so real compared to other talk show bandleaders. No wonder he quit punkass Leno's show.
Gall ery Meh, I think he really doesn't like him especially for what Leno did to Carson and Letterman...and Conan....I tend to believe today's Howard Stern a lot more than 90's Howard Stern. The man doesn't need to shock anymore, he doesn't need anything. I don't know about his personal finances, but I wouldn't be surprised if he could just retire anytime. Most importantly, he doesn't rely on controversy anymore. He's just a great interviewer with a lot of opinions....which is great. I think that we should trust him when it comes to him disliking Leno. Maybe I just like to believe it's true because I find Leno to be incredibly boring and just not funny at all. (That's just a matter of personal opinion. It's fine if you like Leno and I know I could never be 5% as good as he is even if I don't like what he does. All I'm saying is, Maybe I have a bit of a bias.).
@@Lanwarder How could you not know about his finances? When he went to sirus he got like half a billion, I don't listen to stern, but I remember it was all over the news.
Damn Jay Leno was so pissed. His appearance on The Howard Stern Show after this episode is really worth watch. He describes how he felt during this interview.
@@greenkidd529 I never liked Stern when he was full blown, overbearing 90's Stern. But I hate PC, nice guy "I hate myself" Stern even more, if that makes sense.
This is Prime Howard Stern. Nobody ever took a shot a Johnny Carson and that’s why Stern was beloved. Ironically, Stern had Arsenio on his show last year and fawned all over him.
In the eighties I was a bench mechanic for an aerospace company in New York and we had Howard on every day , you couldn’t turn it off , it was like listening to a never ending car wreak. He was still married when my job changed and I wasn’t in a position to listen to the radio all day so I missed the fart man days.
Howard was just starting to get national attention at this point in his career and he wanted to make sure he made a mark and distinguished himself from the other guests. So he took over the Tonight Show for a few minutes so people would remember him.
A) Carson wouldn't have Stern on the Tonight Show, so now Stern is venting & Leno knew what is was getting when he booked Stern. B) Howard is a far superior interviewer than Jay. Leno is a better stand-up, but this ain't stand-up. C) Howard's top priority is entertainment & he doesn't have to care about what the executives at NBC think, but Jay does.
That's part of aging, you know. You are vibrant and energetic when you're still young, but as the age progresses you're gonna mellowed out and about. That's natural phenomenon.
Back when television made sense and was fun to watch. People didn’t get all racy or overly offended ... we laughed and we were entertained.. No harm no foul. However ... invite Howard Stern at your own risk 😂
And the sad thing is he constantly says he hates how he used to be and attributes how he used to be as being angry and unhappy. He has completley bent over to PC holywood
The older you get the more you understand the real world and yourself. Its not so hard. Id be disappointed if he stayed the same. Cant be a tough child your whole life
Asked for his reaction, McMahon said: "What do you think my reaction is to Howard Stern? What's your reaction to Howard Stern? Are you fond of being in the same business he's in? Are you happy about that? Are you happy to be part of the media that he's in? ... Here's what I say about Howard Stern: I never hear him, I never miss him. Got it? I never hear him, I never miss him."
Yeah but to go from this to the thing he is now in just 30 years is just sad. 90s Howard was the best but unsustainable, 2000s Howard was the best Howard could be and sustain it all, 2010s Howard is where he sold his soul to the devil for Famous friends, 2020s is where Howard is paying the devil his dues. He is a sad shadow of the man he used to be and he can't even be with his Famous friends because now he is a hypochondriac who hasn't left his home in 2 years
Howard's genius starting out was simply that he looked at the state of radio at the time, and said, "This is really boring." And all he did was attempt to make it interesting by playing around with the format and having fun with it -- which he did, big time! He took that formula and applied it to the talk show format, as well, which is what he is doing here. Can anyone name a guest on Leno's show other than Howard here who made it this interesting? To where you're slightly uncomfortable? To where you are glued to the screen watching all the fun unfold?
I love how all these people think they actually know these comedians and act like one another is a piece of shit. Jay is a businessman and a family man and he made a boatload of money. Who gives a fuck what a bunch a better Easton are staying. The fact that people think that they actually know him and think he’s a bad guy or ridiculous. Watch his stand up which she still does a monks the people. And he’s a car guy which is awesome. Just a bunch of fucking pathetic haters. Shut the fuck up
I remember watching this happening and it was like an earthquake happening . Fast forward 2020 Howard is exactly what he is complaining about at the time
JuicyTaz201 he's so pissed that Howard was doing so well at the time that his producers and executives did t give 2 fucks about jays personal feelings and made him put Howard on.
No Name Entered Howard said it on his show after this appearance. Jay didnt want him on but stern was too big to be kept off the tonight show regardless of who the host was or what he felt about it
