Magic had no business thinking he could host a talk show and be entertaining, but he deserves incredible credit for being willing to have Howard Stern on, really unrestrained and unedited. This is show business and t.v. at its very best. Magic is truly a stand up guy, being willing to talk about anything.
@@Gaslight_ProductionsWhat a pussy! He should not have had a talk show to begin with. At the same time, we wouldn't have witnessed gold right before our eyes.
I remember the anticipation to watch this episode after Howard ripped Magic daily for 3 weeks leading up to this airing. Howard didn't disappoint as he brutally hijacked the show from the beginning, then drove it into a ditch...
Stern had been on radio and media day-after-day for 20 years at this point, earning the title "King of all Media" by this point. He was a viper. Magic was handed the show with no training in the media arts. other than the media kissing his ass in interview. MAGIC faced the buzzsaw: a viper vs a bunny rabbit.
@@RichV20 let's face it magic was a basketball player not a talk show host figure there's no comparison 🤔 Howard stern is an ass there was no reason for the way he acted. You all are talking like magic was his talk show host equal... notice Howard did not challenge magic to a game of basketball oh wait.. that's not Howard's arena correct?
@@jacobsladder6715 Howard Stern wasn't trying to be a basketball player. Magic was trying to be a talk show host, which he had no preparation for. Stern admits that he was an awful radio show host for years before it finally clicked. Difference is Howard was doing radio in Bumfuk USA while Magic tried doing a national show cold.
No what's shocking is howard being some woke limp wristed clown who now gets triggered by Donald Trump or Joe Rogan. Howard was and is a phony and you dorks that worship him.... well.
Who thought it was a good idea to give Magic Johnson a talk show? LOL 😂 This was the best thing they could have done for the show and it didn’t help them avoid cancellation after just one season.
@@RagingBullNuts no, the appearance was all schtick for ratings. Howard's primary criticism was that Magic was a marble mouth and unsuitable to host a national talk show.
Damn, I remember watching several episodes of the magic hour. Didn’t get to see this episode, but damn Howard Stern straight embarrassed Magic on his own show. Should have been immediately renamed the Tragic Hour after this episode. What a clunker ugh
Sheila E's brother in this show episode is actually Nicole Richie's biologal father (he was in Lionel Richie's band and I believe Nicole Richie's biological mother was also) for whatever reason they gave Nicole to Lionel and Brenda.
Stern actually got Magic to loosen up. Sorta. And he was right; Magic was such a mush mouth because he was trying to say lines and he wasn’t being himself.
The Keenan Ivory Wayne Show, which got axed for The Magic Hour on most FOX owned stations, was on more solid ground for all the 8 or 9 months it was on, not changing its time slot like The Magic Hour did twice in its 8 week life.
I remember taping this and the controversy that followed. This was the only watchable episode of this talk show. You can tell Magic hated every second of it though..
@@jjfmin1 WAS! And he would've gotten his steroided-azz thrown under the jail too if he tried anything-with Other krayzies just as big and dumb as him!
Magic looked more like a diplomat being interrogated at the UN than a host of a TV show. I think he only answered a few questions the entries episode haha
My how times have changed. I remember Sheila E called a priest to cleanse the set. Drew is right though, NBA kept exaggerating those heights. Karen McDougal one of Trump's beauties.
I doubt we’ll ever know. He rarely addresses hot topics concerning himself. Last time was shocking when he was very upset about audience reaction to his interview with Ben affleck
I don't know..I think National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Chevy Chase was a lot better than Howard Stern..but unfortunately, Chevy Chase didn't stay at that level.
As someone who grew up watching Howard it’s such a shock seeing the way he has changed over the years. This is totally inappropriate and Howard reveled in being “un-pc” back in the day.
People need to understand, Howard took over every show he guest starred on in the 90s. Jon Stewart, Joan Rivers, Letterman, Leno, etc. He did this to everyone, not just Magic.
This was the biggest disaster in Late Night Television next to "Keenan (Ivory-Wayans)," "Vibe," and "The Chevy Chase Show" on FOX. Still, I watched it. I love "Shelia E." LOL
