Wow! I am still learning about Hoya and looking at your beautiful Hoya collection is pretty amazing. That splashy Hoya with no tag looks similar to my Hoya nova ghost, one of new fav. So that's how to propagate Hoyas, the simple way. Thank you so much for showing that. I really enjoy looking at your garden because there are so many interesting Hoyas, orchids, etc. Thank you again for sharing.

I love this Hoya diagnosis idea! I hope it will become a regular part of every video. It is so helpful to see actual specimens of any plant in decline so I can see what to look for. Thank you for sharing your garden! I am on the other coast in FL growing outdoors like you so it is so helpful. My retusa bloomed this last week too! I didn’t realize it would be a rarity. I grew up in Maine and have so much to learn! Thank you!

I love that splashy lacunosa at about 14:52. The "snow leopard" is super pretty, too! Oh, and that last one, too! (I love them all, basically.). I really like your new "diagnose a hoya" segment! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

One good thing I appreciate about hoyas is that they thrive as having untamed growth, to keep them blooming their best they must be let grow naturally and unpretentious as they please, untamed, Nothing contrived or st least not obviously so, and then the fragrance of choice

Most indoor collectors should consider their perfectly cared for but not growing plastics, having an infestation with false spidermites. I think the stemma article on them has been floating around on every hoya community. Taking cuttings to spread risks often is not an easy task for many hoyans and esp. in cooler climates, like mine, there are real reasons to double check on using that sharp knife and the cool heart. During winter, from time to time, I have a batch of cuttings with 100% deaths for no obvious reason, no rot, no discoloration, no damage… just drying out and dying plant tissue. Previous and next batch doing great next to the poors. So this happens, unforunately. If it was for an expensive plant with limited supply and no rot, I would try to airlayer some nodes and cut the old roots subsequently.
@ricshoyasRHM
@ricshoyasRHM Год назад
Definitely stressful if you have an invisible infestation. What is your preferred method to control mites?
@_hazplants
@_hazplants Год назад
@@ricshoyasRHM I prefer predatory mites. In the past, I tried different miticides, horticultural oils, sulfur, showered my hoyas quite often, checked them with handheld microscopes. This all helps a bit, but only predatory mites will be there before the damage happens. They are quite pricey. But taking the costs into account that resistances and the extinction of pollinators and beneficial insects provide for all if us, no behavioral alternative exists.

Wow...I love your favor silver Lacunosa, I didn't see you sold that in Lil cup? As it's almost total silver, is hard or easy to propagate? I would love to have one someday....oh and what happend to the name of Krohniana? So it's wildly agreed to call all Krohniana as Lacunosa or it's under Lacunosa?
@ricshoyasRHM
@ricshoyasRHM Год назад
I haven’t propagated that one yet but lacunosas are usually easy.
