Hi! I’m in the same situation and I was just wondering where you got your tools because I am afraid of buying the wrong ones. Also do you have a clue about matte screens and shiny screens like what’s the difference?

@@oopashaloopa5094 I actually just used my normal screwdriver. I got the screen from Brightfocal on Amazon for around $45, I believe. The screen does come as matte, and the difference, to me, is major, especially if you tend to work in brightly lit areas. I prefer the matte MUCH more. Just be careful with the screws, as you can strip them. Just use a standard smaller screwdriver, and you should be okay if you work carefully. Good luck with your repair! :)

Easy to follow this video. Got my screen on Amazon for $30. But to have a local computer shop do it was going to be $80.00 because scammers gotta scam. Magnetic mini screw drivers helped. You can also test the new screen as soon as the cable is plugged in to make sure you didn’t buy a dud.

You really should disconnect the battery before replacing the screen as the 19v rail is always live on the screen cable ..

This replacement was done at my full time job, we order screens in bulk due to how many we replace. I would check on e bay, but I would try to look at the back of the screen itself and look up that screens part number, rather than looking up the screen for a certain type of computer. It is usually a little cheaper that way. I hope this helps!
