Can confirm this works. Just upgraded my 4300 with a 1050ti and SSD and everything went smoothly. Thermals are fine and GPU works well under heavy load. Haven’t tried overclocking yet though. Using an i7 3770 CPU.

@@jakemartin2356 I actually didn’t get around to over clocking it yet but it’s still working fine! Obviously the case is small with limited cooling so I wouldn’t advise doing anything crazy, but light overclocking should be no trouble at all.

have the same system, trying to upgrade it with a msi gtx 1050, no succes, power supply wont hold that much power. Cannot imagine the above config actually works. Please show it to us working

I did actually saw some HP Compaq 6300 and 8200 working with a GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti with no problem with the 240w psu, nvidia recomends a 300w psu having in mind the actual power consumption of DDR4 ram, chipset, CPU, HDDs, USB ports, in my case my HP 4300 pro only has a consumption of 96W in total, there's still 134w Left, it should Work with no problems

Not sure what the rest of your setup looked like but I build mine exactly as per this video a year ago and it still works great. No issues whatsoever. Perhaps your GPU was faulty? This power supply has more than enough to run a 1050ti

Yes, it should Work with no problems, it has the same PSU that all HP 4000, 6000 and 8000 series have, and it works perfectly On them.

No, the pciex16 actually has 25w limit CMIIW, and my gt 1030 can only work with underclock, else it will glitch and crash on unigine benchmark (edit = it was actually faulty gpu, it is working just fine now)

Thanks! I have the same pc and I'm glad I bought the GT 730 hoping the 240Watt powersupply can handel the videocard. It will never be that great gamer PC. Tomorrow I wil recieve the card by the postman. The desktop also has 8GB ram and 150GB SSD onboard. So it should be end up being a pretty fast working older desktop.

I know this is an old video but maybe someone can still help me. I was looking to install this card in this same pc. I'm also installing 2x8gb sticks crucial ram and a 500gb crucial ssd. I was about to buy this card when I read this card takes 75 watts from the slot, and the board only supplies 25-30. Does this setup work well or will a gt 1030 ddr5 be a better option? Not much info is out there about this particular model, and most of what I've read is that this card will run, but poorly due to lack of power.

@@NoT1M0L33T So according the the hp specs on their site, it has a 240 watt psu, and the pcie x16 slot can only output 25-30 watts. Is the 25 watts just whats recommended? Because I was at the understanding it couldn't put out more than 30watts?

@@yogiamani4869I decided to use a gt 1030 instead to prevent any issues with lack of power, replaced the pentium g640 to an i5 3470s, 2 sticks of 8gb crucial ram, a 500gb crucial ssd, then used a pcie x1 extension cable to make a wifi card fit inside.
