this really helped me cause my fan started to get noisy and I wanted to replace it. Really helped learning how to take off the back cover and fan. Thanks Much
Last week ,one of the buildings on the property I work at had a recycle bin setup for electronics. scored 2 Elitebook 8470p laptops ,memory and hard drives missing. A Dell Inspiron 530s fully functional, A HP Compaq 8510p laptop fully functional. I happen to have a power adapter that would work for the Elitebooks, and I have memory and 2.5 drives on hand. I installed drives and memory to both Elitebooks (Core i5) and they worked. I had to erase all the programs and pictures left on the Dell Inspiron (windows 7). I did the same with the HP 8510p (windows XP).
One of the first service friendly laptop from HP then it came. Most parts were easy to service by removing one bottom cover. It still holds value, but now 8-9 years later the cmos/bios battery must be changed and guess what? The bloody battery is not accesible under the cover so you have to almost unscrew all chassis screws to find it! For once i apriciated that they used the stupid battery with wires since the connector are not hidden. Unplugged the connector for the dead battery and plugged in a new that i just left loose in a free spot.
After disassembling, I could NOT figure out how to get the screen back on correctly. I put it on and was trying to fold it down after I put both hinge screws on and it snapped off the plastic side extremely easy. I'm going to get a replacement top cover but I don't even know how to prevent this from happening again. Any ideas?
can u also show how to connect 2 monitors with 8460p? 2 separate monitors and extended display on all 3 screens...? i have tried a lot of thing but I am able to obtain display on 1 monitors so far, as per the manual (also read in some blog post) that up to 4 monitors can be attached to 8460p but nobody seems to know how.... can u like make an extended video.... thanks in advance

@@Micheal1075 Yeah. I have Linux, Windows and FreeBSD on an SSD. :) I even got a new EliteBook (this one, same model, and a dedicated Graphics Card), and honestly, I love it. :)
