Got one of these? (I thought mine was the 8470p but it's actually the 8460p... Same laptop except the GPU is intergrated with the processor.)
Good news! Its easy to maintain! Well, cleaning out the fan and changing the thermal paste is - also changing HDD, Ram and Wi-Fi card are easy too. Removing the motherboard on the other hand is quite time consuming.

This tutorial will also work with the Hp 8470p as well.

Same laptop here but i get my laptop suddenly shutdown most likely while I’m playing I will try the thermal paste first hoping it will be fixed

I've got two of those laptops. The build quality is absurdly good. Makes you wonder why they overengineered them so much(?) I hit this video because I'm about to change the fan on unit #2 now. I know what I'm doing but always just check youtube for any "gotcha's".

Nice video 👍 I will recommend not using arctic silver back in the day it used to be good but now it’s just a paste without the silver .. recommend High conductivity 100G Silver thermal paste GD-460 ourgd brand The Chinese brand old-school arctic silver good stuff

Polysynthetic silver is no good i guess, I didn't even realize it's advertised as that until you said something. Also says 88% thermal conductive "filler". I mean, the internet makes this stuff seem like the bee's knees. Thanks for the info.

Retro Fix Wow never noticed that before the percentage The stuff I told you about I’ve been using for years and it’s dirt cheap and it’s better it actually has silver particles haven’t came across anything better 😳

No point taking the laptop outdoor if you plan to disassemble the heatsink. Just take the heatsink out and clean it.

Lighter fluid and cotton bud.That will clean the crud from the fan.

nice video,but I'm curious when it comes to thermal paste procedures,u did there was really needed the thermal paste to be fill pasted with the plastic up and down to fill it or just drops then let it flatten as long it puts the part flatted back together

If replacing the old thermal paste u did was fine as long the q-tip won't left any remain buds for not causing an overheat problems

@Some BoringPerson today i change thermal paste also still noise is coming. But as i checked cpu temperature is going on 16 to 36 approximately. What to do now.need to change fan or what.pls share your experience.
