hp elitebook 8460p power and charging light blinking solution 

I have same laptop. Laptop would intermittently turn off after around 10/15 minutes... solution is to disconnect ribbon cable from power button. Once you have done this it seems you can power on the laptop using the middle button out of the 3 above the keyboard to the right. Number 1 is for Wifi, Number 3 is For Sound, Number 2 is for QuickWeb. That seems to power it on. However last night, suddenly, my laptop fan kicked in while the laptop was idle and I smelt a faint burning smell, laptop turned off and now will no longer power on. All lights just flicker when connecting battery or power suppy. Do you know what the issue is? Is the the same as your video?

Mine blinks yellow and white and I tried pressing power button and mute speaker button for about 5 secs while it plugged and it worked

What track did you cut and how it relates to the problem ? Why would you keep your PCB/Motherboard on a metal fork or close to a metal blade ??

Hp8470p when plugging adaptor laptop on without pressing power switch and all led glows on and off again and again no display , MOSFET 7401 19 v fluctuates on drain.
