Hi can I use Samsung SSD PM991 M.2 2242 42mm PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe MZALQ256HAJD MZ-ALQ2560 Solid State Drive On Hp Elitebook 840 G2 core i7 5600U 2.6 GHz And which capacity it will fit 512 GB or 256 GB ??
Compared to a late-2013 iMac (21 inch), this is so comically easy to change these components. I wish Apple would trend away from being hostile to consumers upgrading their hardware. Then again, you are spending too much on an Apple computer to begin with. Great video!
@@danc2014 Ah I have the 820 G1. Very impressive easy opening. I see the G2 is the same easy slide out opening as the G1. The G4 has 6 screws. Not sure about the G3.
Can i Upgrade my HP Elitebook 850 G2 with a 16gb kit from HyperX HX316LS9IBK2/16 Impact Arbeitsspeicher, DDR3L 16GB (Kit 2x8), 1600MHz, CL9, SODIMM 1,35V or should i buy just a 4gb ram stick?
I have the HP Elitebook 840 G2. Before I upgrade I wanted to ask for those that know. Does this laptop support a *NVME m.2* card? All I find is conflict in a bunch of yes and good few no in my research. Is the card slot pin config plug and play. Meaning a NVME m.2 card slides right in fine? Last- if the laptop supports such anyone know what number card I need? Meaning size that mounts where screw goes. Appears to me that slot is for a smaller card vs the long one correct? or my only option is- m.2 2240 which is not NVME right?
I have read this early G model needs a special NVME card and the BIOS can only have a drive or NVME Thus not a common addition. Later G models can have both and M2 versions. The easy open door was a great design but then HP stopped it
Hey I have a elitebook G2... What's the max storage it can handle? Like I'm planning for a 2Tb hard drive, any idea if it supports a 2Tb internal hard drive?
hp elitebook g2 only supports up to 16gb ram, also u need the same size of ram like 2x2gb 2x4gb 2x8gb ram which is kinda sad that u gonna throw away 2 4gb rams when upgrading lol
I wish it did. It just says 840. Doesn't look like it has backlit keys or a webcam. Just blanked out where the webcam would be. Or does it actually still have one?
A little late to reply but for anyone else wondering, yes you can. It will actually boost performance a little(albeit probably not noticable) because the ram will be running at full speed and not half, dual channel memory needs dual sticks to run at full speed. Obviously having 16gb vs 8gbs is nice to.
2 sticks is crucial if you game. The onboard video takes full advantage of the dual channel, and boosts graphics performance by about 10-15%, which is a lot when you are squeezing everything you can out of these.
@@osheathedj ok then on a laptop like this we might go from 10 to 11 fps on average. Believe me, I have this laptop, it's useless for anything else than Crossy road and maybe a little Minecraft.
I was expecting you to upgrade the M.2 SSD slot too. That is why I watched your video because it said how to upgrade Elitebook 840 G2. It was not a complete upgrade. by the way, thanks for the windows product key.
I'm afraid it's not possible since they have different pin connectors. Although don't worry since ddr3 won't be a bottleneck. 16gb of ddr3 is closely just as fast as 16 ddr4.
for anyone asking how to put graphics card. its very simple, just put your graphics card on a pcie express slot, secure it, turn on your pc, install driver. enjoy. and oh, for this laptop. you can't
