Much appreciated for allowing me a non technical user to avoid the HP monopolistic programming of their product. But HP still showing popup!

i've changed the settings as above but the "cartridge problem" popup still appears. suspect this is because i already agreed to the firmware update a while back. is there anything else i can do?

Yes, that's correct that's because you have updated the firmware already. You will need to install an updated remanufactured ink cartridge as you already disabled the automatic firmware update, please contact our customer service team directly here for further assistance: ld.ink/2DM8cOU

I have no idea if I updated my printer or not but I am getting the errors, how can I find out what firmware my printer is running?

@@asian1studios Probably not, mine shipped with a newer firmware to begin with. Maybe if you reset the printer and never connect it to the internet?

Don't bother even believing You stopped HP from Updating firmware this way HP bent me over again I had auto updates disabled For a couple years it worked fine My wife was using it one day when she opened up the HP software on the computer It needed to be updated Guess what when you do that it resets the settings in the Printer as well The printer got updated Blocked me from using the ink cartridges Purchase new incarcerators from Costco And it went downhill from there all of a sudden it saying it's not designed for continuous ink system It was never altered in any way the only thing I did was refill the old ink cartridges and now have a paper Whight
