When you use a compatible ink cartridge from another region of the world and it shows an incompatible error message. You need to change the region code of your HP printer. Find out how I did it.
My first inkjet was an HP bought in the early oughts. It was a printer w/o scanner with integrated cartridges. I bought it at Costco and got some xtra carts there too. I was taking creative writing workshops which required me to make copies of my story for each person in the workshop (about 20). I refilled one black cart 10 times in a row. I always kept two sets going and so had a spare set handy and filled up. It took two full refilled carts to print all the stuff for the whole class to review a story. That was fantastic. I loved HP. Now there are so Nazi about cracking down on refillers. It's like insane revenge. It's not like we are thieving their technology or creative work. We were just appreciating it and making it last as long as possible. Avoiding excess garbage. And the starter carts and the "standard" carts that just fully do not work at all there is so little dried up ink in those. I always had trouble with the tri-color carts, anyway. Alas, no more HPs for me. They have totally lost it.
Yes I just found one brand new in the box at a thrift store but can't get the thing set up due to how no longer supporting the device. Sleaze balls. But anything pre 2013 will be a much more honest machine.anything after is tampered with. The newer it is the more security it has beware
I have a 4630 HP Printer and I purchased a couple non-HP replacement cartridges and ran into the same "error message" issue. However, all I did was download the "HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool 5.3" with which essentially recognized the new replacement cartridges. The tool acknowledged them after I clicked "okay" that this is what I now have installed....printed the alignment page...scanned the alignment page...then it was ready to go. Didn't have to contact HP support. I'm in the US so maybe process is a bit different, but it should be the same for all. Downloading that utility tool, I believe is the key. It helped.
Thank you for sharing this tip. It could be worth a try for those who have a genuine HP ink cartridge encoded for another region. If anyone tests it let us know in the comment please.
This information explains my issue. I had this exact problem and called support. They sent me another set of cartridges which also did not work. this region thing is insane, and I will never buy another HP product.
can i use hp678 cartridge for hp2130 printer as a incompatible cartridge? or please tell me any method to use hp678 cartridge in place of hp 803 cartridge...Please help ASAP
mate, did you have any issues during this process? I reached out to HP and got a code but I keep getting an error "Sorry an error occurred. Please try again".
I bought my HP deskjet 2720 all in printer from uae now I am in the Philippines . Do I also need to reset or change it in region like this? will this printer work even though I bought it in other country? Please help.
My Deskjet 2540 was bought on a military base overseas so potentially wondering if there's a region issue. Label inside printer says to use 61, and there's a color 61 cartridge in there that's not reporting any error. However, two consecutive black 61s are refusing to work - says not intended for use in this printer. The one in there now is brand new, genuine HP 61XL. Got the cartridge information screen to display like in your video and it shows the cartridge ID on the black 61 as all zeroes. Could this be an issue on the printer side rather than the cartridge since I know the cartridge is good quality?
I want to buy a new ink cartridges but I don't know if the one I'm buying are compatible with my printer. My printer model is Hp Deskjet 2540 and I'm using 301 cartridge. I bought it in europe before. Is it possible to use Hp 61 now that I'm here in Asia. Because Ink 301 is not available here in asia.
If your printer is not reading the cartridge or says it's corrupted but you just refilled it you can do this but at your own risk: When refilling the cartridge take off the top paper completely, you'll see a circular indentation to the right of the refill hole. After refilling use a tip of pen cap or something strong and press that circular depression 10 to 15 seconds, but do not puncture it... That resets the cartridge and usually you can use again with great success...
Hello Sir, I just spoke to one of the hp support team and did the same thing. I am just confused. When you got the code and put the code , did you put your old cartridges in? Or you use the new cartridges while generating the code / while putting the code.
Hi, I have brought my printer ( SL-1560W) from Korea to the Vietnam. The black ink cartridge has run out and I have purchased a MOH51A to replace the 1VV00A. But printer says it's not compatible. I believe it is a regional setting problem. Thanks . I need support
I already have a code and perform a reset region, but the cartridge is still incompatible, the agent only told me to contact the support engineers but didn't told me how. Dunno what to do right now
I having the same problem I can't use the old cartridges and also the new ones after I resetted the region, we're you able to fix your problem? if so please let me know.
So I have to contact first a tech support as to which ink cartriges are compatible for my printer/region, right? Due to curiosity, I tried pressing ctrl+shift and tricolor and black indicate only zeros. 😂😂 This might be an infication that the cartridges installed are incompatible.
Note that step 5 is key - you will need to contact HP to get a reset code. The code from one printer will not work on a different printer, and the code that works once on a printer will not work later. If you enter incorrect codes you risk "bricking" your printer. DO NOT ATTEMPT A REGIONALIZTION RESET WITHOUT SUPPORT OF AN HP AGENT.
Heay how you come to know that 301 is compatible cartridge to 61xl ?? I am from India and facing same problem.. can you tell the compatible cartridge for 65xl??
Deepharsh Jaiswal I know because Hp sells them as different products in different regions. Find the hp shopping page for your printer’s ink in another country and see what model they label the cartridge
@@conceptedge is this written in some document? I have Printer 2549 which uses 61 cartridge (US REGION) but now I use this printer in India, which doesnt have HP 61, where can I find my compatible?
When I called the HP support center to have my printer region reset they told me that I need the old and original cartridge of my printer. I thought I only need the cartridge available in my country?
The Hp agent guide me thru phone, and what he instructed me was to attached the old cartridges(652) then do the process. Inputing the code etc.. Afterwards, he told me to put my new cartridges (680) then do the process, He also told me to refresh and do plug and unplugged. But the result is failed. It is still blinking . Is it right to put the old (625)Cartridges before the process or Ishould do put the new (680) cartridges instead??
Failed . I was asked to put the new cartridges . Did it three times on three diff codes provided by them . Now the limit of 3 times is exausted . Printer is useless . Perhaps i can use the old 652 from uae
What if i used remanufactured cartridges? Is it okay to perform country region reset? Hope you notice my question and I’m looking forward for your response
Did you know hp only fills the XL cartridges half way and the standard 1/4 full? Lol refill the cartridges and reset the ink values. Ink forever! But after about 3-5 refills the print head shows age. But in all saves tons of money and 1000 pages of print!
HP cartridges are so expensive and run out so quickly that I've bought enough to buy my printer over again four times. Buy a different brand such as BROTHER which has a better reputation. A friend has a brother printer and she loves it, stating that she rarely replaces the cartridges. And we print about the same amount.
Hi 1000uf can you please tell me whether you done this region reset thing under the warranty of the printer?I am from India. I couldn't create a support ticket from my region,I don't know why. So i contacted their customer support number and they aren't willing to help me or give me region reset code because my printer is out of warranty. Is there anything I can do brother for resetting the region? Also my cartridge number for my printer hp deskjet ink advantage 3635 was 652 earlier in previous region and now for India is 680. Please reply😟 Thanks
@@conceptedge can you give the link to the support forum? Maybe HP has changed their interface in the last year(s) since your video, but I seem to only end up in their ticket generating pathway which does not like my expired warranty. THANKS!
Dear friends, someone knows how to reset the print cartridge counter, because the problem in HP 2400 printers is not in the lack of ink ... it is that the cartridges have a limited number of printing sheets and if Pass that number, the system simply puts it as a useless cartridge, and so this cartridge can no longer be used in any other printer, someone knows or knows more about this subject, I will greatly appreciate your comments, cordial greetings to all.
No. You simply need to disable "ink cartridge protection" in your printer settings or printer settings in your computer or somewhere in printer properties. I refill ink cartridges for my hp envy 4500 AIO and i disabled the ink cartridge check protection. And mine works ok no problems
Has anyone tried it? Does it work? I really want to try this. The agent messed up my printer in the first try and told me to not do the region reset cause it might ruin the printer.
It dint work for me . You may give it a try . In the worse case you wont be able to use cartridge of the new region u live in . However you will still be able to use the old region cartridges
I performed a reset region, it succeeded but still incompatible and when I try my old cartridge it also appears incompatible. I'm torn between 2 cartridges now. 😑
Amin, on one post you said you used the old cartridges to get the code now you said you used the new cartridges to get the code. Can you confirm which is it? Because I used the new cartridges that you said before and it regional sized successful but the new cartridges are still not compatible with the HP 8715 printer.
1000uf i contacted hp via whatsapp. i was so glad i found your channel(because i have the same problem as yours, everything you have shown on your video is what is also shown on my pc). however, when i photographed everything on my pc to show them about the black cartridge, they told me to buy a new one.
Or call on their toll free number . And request a region reset they will create a case and will ask you to wait for a call from their tech team . They will give a tat of 1 to 2 hours . But trust me they will not call you for weeks . However when they call they will give u the code and the video explains of wht you need to do after that .
Experienced users like myself keep their hands off HP printers, as this manufacturer is obsessed with getting money from unsuspecting users. Disabling half full original cartridges, rendering third-party printer cartridges and reset chips unusable if necessary via firmware updates. There have been many class action lawsuits, but as in the case of a laptop that couldn't function after one hour or so, consider this a fair warning, read expert advices and decide carefully before you buy, and consider brands manufacturing printers only!
NEVER again will I buy an HP printer, what jerks this company is, encoding their paper, their cartridges, its like big brother spying on you. I guess the money for this piss poor product comes from the outrageous cost of buying their ink and paper. GOOD RIDDANCE HP.
Exhausting! Al this for ink? WHY do we tolerate this stupidity, the politics of ink? I find HP to be the worst…the MOST greedy in regards to shutting down your computer when they “detect” that you have cheated them out of their ink money!
