I have an HP that’s not the same model but close enough. Followed the steps that applied to mine and it worked! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, I was so mad this expensive thing wasn’t working! Thank you so much!!!!!
This worked for me! We own an HP Smart Tank 515 and this really did the trick. We didn't use our printer for months and the black ink wouldn't come out well when we tried to print again (just very faint color). But we soaked the bottom in hot water for less than 5 minutes, and dried it well by wiping it with tissue paper and letting it rest upright over a piece of paper. Just make sure to secure the ink carriage before printing again to avoid E3 from appearing on the screen.
Hp support told me to throw out printer and buy a new one .Only problem is this is new. I followed your directions and it solved the problem. Thanks for the video
Thanks a million!!! This actually worked! I was losing all hope that I’ll get the black ink to print properly. However, after following your tips it worked! But then I encountered a similar problem right after with the coloured cartridge so I had to soak the coloured ink in hot water as well. Now both cartridges work! Thank you 😀

Cool video! Solved my problem! Ps: If you want to remove the cartridge out without open the skull of your printer, you can cut the power down, when printer moves it's cartridge to the middle by self-checking after any restart.

do you have a video on fixing HP Smart Tank... where in the problem is when you leave the printer not printing for about 5 minutes (after heating it with hot water) the Black is gone/not working again.. at the same time the Black ink is not consuming the ink inside the tank..
Hello, I have repeatedly used the clean print head utility and tried the clean smear. It did not improve the quality. The report printed stays exactly the same. The white lines on the color are in exactly the same place. The black is also the same, the missing black areas are always on the same spots. What to do hope you help me.

Sharing is caring: Bought HP printer and had multiple quality issues. I regret buying HP printer. Their aftersales support is just HORRIBLE! Their customer support is very slow to respond and just gives copy and pasted answers without even reading customer's reply. For those planning to buy, do yourself a favor: buy a better quality printer. HP printer is simply NOT worth your hard-earned money.

You keep calling that a "cartridge" but those are not ink cartridges. Those are actually the print heads, which usually is soldered in other printers. This particular unit is one of HP's new marketing ploy where they will not only make you buy the ink bottles but they will also make you buy the replacement printheads when issues like this happen. Do not buy this particular model. Totally overpriced and very high maintenance costs.
It doesn't need to be exact as long as i know what im doing buddy, and it is still called cartridges in many ways , you dont call that printheads exactly if you want to buy online.
On the contrary, it is the best thing of the kind, I throw away 10 different printers, epson, canon, brothér, because when the print head dries out, it is almost difficult to clean them. 90% of the problem, is the heads drying out, because of idle contracts. And this printer, if you have to, you can buy a new head for $15. And you have a new printer for $ 15, By the way, it's not a high price compared to other heads.
