Hey Guys! Sorry if the video disappeared on you we had to reupload due to a technical issue. Since RU-vid loves to not show reuploads it would mean so much if you could show this video some love and share it with your friends!!

Been building handbikes & doing my own R&D for 10 years now so its awesome to see this. As a paraplegic this is still super flexible to adjusted to multiple people body types relatively quickly. I dont think transferring would be easy for me but is the biggest problem for paraplegic people next to being affordable of course. The motor is awesome too. Cant wait to see these guys in the wild!

Thanks! I may have to do this mod, but it probably won't fit on my 2004 Greenspeed GTO, so may have to just buy a new trike w/hand pedal and e-assist.

Looks like you give up folding the scorpion, so you would need to be able to store/transport the trike as is. Other than that, it looks like a nice vehicle.

It can still fold with the scorpion! The folding is a little limited compared to the base model. You can find a picture of it folded here on our website: www.utahtrikes.com/PROD-11622660.html

Hi, The engineering design is very impressive but it also has the same problem of the delta (single front wheel) hand trikes of transferring from a wheelchair but in this case a bit worse because of the two front wheels. I have assisted my wife with this for over ten years and it is not elegant. Our fix has been to go to a removable single front wheel hand bike adapter that fits to the wheelchair. we use a manual Rio dragonfly (10kg) or an electric assist Klaxon (22kg) but still much easier than lifting your wife (weight undisclosed) from the wheelchair into a awkwardly shaped hand trike. Unfortunately, as mentioned in other posts, this is still a very expensive option. bye

70yo, limited-mobility handicapper here. Cannot get on/off my owned tadpole trikes for 15-years now. 30-years recumbent experience here. Delta planform trikes, (already owned), are my ONLY riding choice!

I think there's to much strain on and tear of the albow, shoulder and wrist in a rotating handbike. The movement should go forth and back in a straight push and pull movement instead.

I don’t understand how these bikes cost thousands of dollars. Regular E bikes are much cheaper than these silly things. What makes them so expensive?
@garyseckel295

Yes expensive! I advise with 30-years of recumbent experience, on how to purchase ONLY once!

Low production realistic pay to employees, parts they have to buy from other manufacturers like gears electric motors batteries.

I'm wondering how a person who can't use their legs at all can mount, and dismount the trike? Someone who is wheelchair bound but has full upper body abilities needs a way, or help to get in, and out of the trike. Once that hurdle is overcome I'm sure they would be thrilled to get out and enjoy their trike.

That's one of the biggest issues we've found with this trike. We're planning on working more with some people with disabilities to see how they would mount this trike or ideas they would have for further accessibility. For now, the best solution we have is to have someone assist you with getting in and out of it.
