As you may already know I am a huge fan of the Hype Performance Group Airbus H145. It's in early access and it now has the Action Pack Expansion which allows us to fly HEMS sorties with much more to come.
It's a real challenge to fly and, as you'll see from this video, I am very much a rookie but finding the process of learning quite addictive and enjoyable.
So now we have the perfect training complex from JD3 (ChrisPiAviation) and as the Action Pack Expansion grows and develops there are plenty of training activities to get stuck into here.
On this flight we try some of them!

@Hype Performance as a wannabe helicopter pilot on Xbox please port these over. Helicopters is the reason I downloaded this Sim, and after seeing the videos of your helicopter ls I had to beg, plead, grovel to see if you could please bless us with your work on Xbox. 🙏 🙏 🙏

A bit of a laugh it certainly was. Only because it looked like me flying. Practice makes perfect and I need a lot more practice. This training facility will help a lot in that endeavor. Thanks for your great video and it only goes to prove that there is hope for us all. lol

Lol many thanks. Quick tip for better control in situations like this (thanks to ‘chicomick’) , turn off the A.TRIM. Then you will have more control. The recent flight model update also gives you much more control I feel,

The rotor thump is new and you hear it when you descend in height. It is a good audio indication that you are dropping in height at times if not paying attention.

Wavering mouse syndrome? Assign the 'pause' function in TIR to a mouse button. I use a thumb side button. et voila! Switches stand still while you're talking to 'em. Yet another fine offering. What makes choppers such fun is because it's hard. Luv it.

Many thanks Ron, yes I have such a switch set up but, to my detriment, not in the habit of using it old boy! Having to re-learn it now that they are changing the flight model since the latest updates in the sim. Certainly keeps you on your toes!

You could watch others by going up there in the drone, you can’t go inside the tower unfortunately but you could at least be at the same level. I’ve not used it yet but there is a free flight recorder on flightsim.to so I guess you could record yourself, then start a new flight, go up to tower height in the drone view, play back the recording and then you are watching yourself

Lol many thanks! I’ve always like helicopters but not really liked them in previous flight sims but this H145 is just hours of fun, even if you can’t fly it with anything approaching finesse lol

Hey, thanks for the heads up on this. A very brave video! Lol It looks like you have the A.Trim on all the time...? I don't think it is a good idea when you need full control for these slow precise movements, looks like you are fighting it, or rather it is fighting you. Try flying the courses with it off, I'm sure it will feel more natural. I'm no expert but I think the A.Trim is for more general flying, allowing brief 'hands off'. I map a button to toggle on/off. Also make sure you keep control of speed, a slow walking pace. Get a grip of speed flying just straight and then gentle curves with rudder and only bank to keep level. Thanks again for showing this, you are right it is a lot fun :) Oh and by the way you can use 'Ctrl 3' to view the overhead panel, you can map to 'Toggle Instrument View 3' and A.Trim toggle map to MSFS Command "MAGNETO 4 START"

Hey thanks for that Mick, will check that out and see which parts are on. All I’ve done is turn on the 3 ap switches on the centre console, not touched the AP controls on the pad but I will do some reading up and see what it says but how you describe it makes a lot of sense! Def easier in VR though.

Absolutely spot on with turning the A.TRIM off Mick, makes a huge difference. I’m not great now, just not quite so terrible! 🤣

I just downloaded this and the scenery buildings are corrupt, especially the one which has the HYPE PERFORMANCE name on it. It looks like a steel frame floating above the ground. Any ideas how to fix this?

Ah odd. My first thoughts are check you have downloaded the additional other files needed for it? is that it is conflicting with scenery that might already be there? HPG have a great Discord if you aren’t already there. Might be worth asking on there if what I have me tioned doesn’t help as the scenery dev is a member.

The sound is the blade slap. You can turn it off/down in the tablet sounds App. Hope this helps?

Yes that is correct, it is also a good audible signal that you are descending.

Hey many thanks! For VR I use Valve Index, not sure if that is best option these days but works ok for me however most of the time I am flying using head tracking as I need to be able to see my other screens. Can recommend this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HihxGMaGppA.html For controllers I use an old Thrustmaster Warthog grip on a new Virpil WarBRD base (it’s so smooth!) with a Honeycomb Bravo and Thustmaster TPR pedals.

You don’t need chase plane, you need to figure out the camera system. It works great. No need for chase plane once you understand how it works

Oh absolutely, but you need the HPG H145 for the additional functions like winching, putting out the fires efc. Nothing to stop you using the flying slalom and landing practice points though.

After downloading the putting the folder into Community, how do you load this mission?

This is scenery rather than a mission so you just need to load in at the facility for your flight.

@@Dreamsofwings Thanks, I did that and I am able to visit the complex. There are several dependency addons for this map. Some of the dependent addons are for use by developers. As I am not a developer, I will not need those addons. Can you tell me the minimum dependent add ons needed to play the missions?

@@gregpruitt1647 not sure what dependancy addons there are but as far as I am aware to get everything out of it you need the H145 base + action expansion pack and then just download the scenery. If that doesn’t answer your question might be worth raising with Hype Performance Group themselves.

@@Dreamsofwings The facility and the surrounding scenery are beautiful, and is a great area to fly about. I have the Action Pack as well as the Helicopter addon. I downloaded and are using the Training Complex Solopaca addon and some of the dependency files. I will try the the Training Complex Solopaca by it self and see how that goes.

@@gregpruitt1647 everything used are just ordinary object libraries like many other scenery use them. There's nothing specific only developers need ;)

Really not sure, I’ve not seen mention of a console release. If you are referring to the scenery rather than the helicopter then that will be down to when Asobo can make it possible for Xbox users to access this kind of content that is downloadable from websites.
