Is that what i need to get? Is there anything else? 1-3S users will want to pull esc and replace with something like Mamba Max Pro (vapour esc is fine for 2s on and offroad use) 2-Shimm diff for better ring and pinion gear mesh 3-upgrade steering servo 4-shim lower suspension pins 5-tighten slipper (mine was stupid loose out of the box) loctite it as well 6-vent motor shroud
Just took this truck out for its first run, lost rear wheel drive appears I lost a screw off the sleeve that holds the back drivetrain... Running stock out of the box on a 5800mah 25c 7.4v 2 Cell Traxxis pack. ... Disappointed as I wanted to get more runtime out of it Will be buying the screw kit tommorow. Seems like it has alot of power! Although the steering seems a little tame.
Do you mean the screw pin that holds the rear output to the transmission? That's a common issue out of the box. In my mods slide show I mention loctite for those pins. I lost one on my first pack too.
I pretty much abuse aftermarket parts beyond what they were built for, so I'm not too concerned. The Hot Racing CVDs use 2mm axle pins for the hexes. This is a huge advantage over HPI CVDs which use 1.7mm. I've broken 4 of those 1.7mm, not a single 2mm on my other XS.
Other gear is called the spur, not sure what tooth it is on the savage but on my firestorm brushless it is 87t - hpi sprint 2 is also 87t and both 48 pitch
This doesn't use a spur, it's a combo drive gear / idler gear. 32T / 60T vs stock gear which is 32/56. Those numbers are the gear, not spur & pinion. So it's 24 / 60.
Oh right. All 4 of my RCs have a spur gear, just thought all did. My sprint 2 has the pinion that makes the spur go round then there is a layshaft with 2 pulleys with belts on for 4wd. The belts then drive the differentials. I run a 25t pinion on my buggy and it is rapid with a 65t spur. On 2 and 3S is it pretty quick, on 3S mental.
Check out a video called savage xs 4s lipo called matt. That is one seriously insane little truck doing running backflips. He did alot of damage in the short run tho plus put months worth of wear on the drive line he said he wouldn't do it again but is a nuts video. Ide like to hear how this one turned out over the summer and any tips on strengthening the drive line. I get my new xs soon so any tips on making the driveline stronger or if the sensored set up stops helps the wear being softer on torque? The rtr motor is the best motor ive had its crazy power I put mine into a slash 2wd and that flew then.
Fuck mine blew that away a ton used thunder power 3s 70c continous 140c burst 1002 amp burst 702 amp continous unreal amperage thunder power packs are the best bar none it mad me throw my max amps out.
