I tested positive in 2007, I was 16 years old and here we are 13 years later and im still positive. No warts or other major symptoms....but it is extremely scary to know that cervical cancer is likely in my future.
How do you know you have it? Did you get tested? I have it as well but in the form of gential warts. Also, one can have more than one strain so I dont know which other strains I have.

I recently got a negative Pap smear but tested positive for HPV. I haven't been sexually active for some time so that made no sense to me. My doctor told me that HPV can lay dormant and later show up again. He wants to test me in another year I don't know what to think.

I’m so confused when my pap smear came positive with this. I had been negative before. No sexual background besides my current partner. My partner has no sexual background either. We both didn’t cheat and have no reason to lie to each other. Believe me we’re just the type to work through hard truths. By sexual background I mean no kissing or anything like that before either for both of us. How did I get it, I don’t know?! Partner has been vaccinated with the HPV vaccine except me. I’m racking my brains trying to figure out how!
