Yeah, we usually take the flappy disc to all the metal around the patch. The cleaner the better. You're getting it done though, going to be way better than it was! Have a good one Zig!
Welding To Rusty Metal Is A Pain!!! You Will Always Chase The Weld!!! Just Part Of The Job!!! But You'll Get It!!! Remember This, "Metal Health Will Drive You Mad"!!! Keep Rocking It Out Down Under Ziggy!!!
your mig sounds like it’s blasting out way too much gas.use 0.6 wire and tips for car panels.both metal parts must be shiny silver with next to no gaps for best results.use more tacks to limit burning through points instead of holding on to trigger.im far from pro was like u but learned a lot from others giving me tips.loving this series from scotland👍
Fastest way to clean the caulking compound is blow torch and wire brush, you say mechanics dont have patience to do this . Panel shops just bog everything ha,ha, i used to be told off doing it properly. Problem is sometimes the customer's return and punch the idiot owner in the nose for wrecking his car. Factory 350 statesman, supposed to cunt the rust out of the quarters . I start cutting, idiot says silver tape and bog. 6 months later its even worse . The guy belted him and i had to change the whole bottom anyway. Great work mate , this will be a good car . The old red motors go really well.
It's called "Full Boar"...I know the wire is a bit big for this stuff but it's what I have..9...I'll get some 8 soon...Should be better for the thin stuff I recon...Cheers mate.
