@as-cf7rx in a way you are both right I think, if you listen to his JRE podcast he explains that when he was sitting with the executives due to comments he made on his personal podcasts the executives were going to not give him the job that they had openly publicized and advertised they were going to give him, due to pressure from “internet trolls” or “the woke mob” whatever term you want they felt due to external pressure from “racist” remarks he had made that they would placate the internet masses and not further work with him over the comments and such.

@@adrianflo6481Not every sketch was a homerun. But Shane's monologue was good. Also hosts, and especially comedians work with writers on the sketches, so that collaboration definitely helped struggling SNL.

@@MrSteak maybe i just dont get american comedy then cause i felt as if it was forced. some of the lines were good but in general there was no cohesion. and literally ending on a butt joke. thats not a punch line or a twist. its half baked shock value. they should learn for key and peel when it comes to setting up expectations and punch lines.

@@adrianflo6481SNL is a little different from sketch shows like Chappelle's Show Key & Peel. Shane Gillis was fired from SNL because of "woke" politics. So him coming back to host, and put on a better show than they're used to, highlighted a few things. Shane has his own sketch show called 'Gilly and Keeves', which also does a better job, like Key & Peel. But you also have sketch shows like 'I Think You Should Leave' that's very different, so it all comes down to funny is funny. If you have non-American comedy sketch shows to recommend, I'm always open to expanding my horizons.
