I can’t get enough of her. Amazing how someone who looks no more than 80 pounds can compete with women twice her size. Her court sense, anticipation, touch, guile, speed, and deception are a thing of beauty and there’s no one like her. She’s a joy to watch.
She’s one of my favorite players. I know she won Wimbledon with Strycova (2019) but i don’t know if she won any other doubles majors. She definitely has the potential to win a singles slam tho considering she’s beat some top 10 in her singles career
no need to have a past badminton life. HSW has plenty of example to emulate from taiwan's badminton team. Tai Tzu Ying of taiwan (current world #1 to #2) is famous for her multiple shot making style. I play and coach badminton only, i try to tell these techniques to tennis playing friends but just stare at me, one ear in, one ear out. Tennis players can't compute. Tennis is too focused on power power power. In badminton, power isn't everything, dumb power is even counterproductive. it is pathetic to see tennis players can't run backward, or doing diagonal movement awkwardly.
ive noticed with the double handers (both forehand and backhands) is that their ball placement is so well hidden. Their opponents lose reaction time tracking the ball down.
Shieh, an underrated, overlooked tennis player but the most thrilling, entertaining and excited player. I do watch her game with gusto. She needs a corporate sponsor.
Does she ? I believe she doesnt want it. Less pressure and can be more focus on tennis. She has plenty of money from prizes. This is an opinion not sure about what it is really. I respect her further because she doesnt display herself as a advertising product.
I wish she were younger. Sadly she’s not in her prime so we may not see that. If she had more power and speed she could absolutely destroy women’s tennis.
We all miss the skill she displays which modern racquets have made unusable.....She is just a modern player playing shots that were the norm decades earlier when wood racquets ruled..
That style require smaller stance opening hence the timing on deliver shot can be delayed, unlike wide open stance, to deliver more force you need to have sec earlier to pull a full swing. On of the reason why it is often very deceptive
Unconventional but often effective, the style takes advantage of the tendency too often taught in tennis to ground stroke or volley with your opponent from the baseline, trying eventually to overpower them. She's making opponents run front to back, which ground stroking opponents are not as good at doing. Coupling all that with only hitting hard enough to hit the open court. Drops and deep lobs obviously were practiced more than long volleys, this ability will always frustrate stronger opponents when they come to the net since the next shot is likely lobbing to the backcourt.
Taiwan have top 50 players from time to time something is doing right in their coaching system compares to Hong Kong useless famous westerners just making our money but never 👎 produced any atp top 600 local Hong Kongese, it’s a shame to come take our money.
She is superb. But she is very inconsistent. She caught my eyes a couple of years back and she beat many top players. Now, out of sudden, she plays pretty bad and loses to everyone. I guess it happens to all female players, lacking of consistency
So all men are consistent? You sound stupid. She decided to focus on doubles instead of singles. See there is an explanation and ur dumb ass over there being sexist. Only men consistent are the big 3 FOH!
@@yezmirsheppard-halika6892 I can comment whatever I want. I can like whoever players I want. I barely watch female games now. So what? Why would you call me stupid? Same to you then. Stupid dumb ass poor thing. Only know hiding here calling others stupid. Shame on you and go fxcking crying behind your closet
You need help. I feel bad for the people that have to deal with you. Hsieh has made the Australian Open quarter finals this year. You’ve done nothing. Sit down
