We went hands-on with the HTC Vive XR Elite at CES 2023. Here's what we learned after wearing it and playing games like Eternal Notre-Dame, Yuki, and Hubris VR. #HTCViveXRElite #CES2023
@@SteelBlueVision A lot of folks can get away with contacts. Many can't, though. Honestly this is a thing that should have been standard equipment on every VR headset from the beginning.
@@DMan-ud6bt Honestly I'm fine with some stuff back tracking a bit in the pursuit of headsets developing more compact designs. Those other features can get pushed back up afterwards
2k is actually confused by many it ranges from basic 1920x1080 being called 2k to 2560 x 1440 resolution so it depends really what they mean as 1080 is x4 to get to 4k but less on 1440p
@@Eskoxo yes, and 3840x2160 is also 4k so two 2k display can be close to 4k but it can also be far off. Just feel like it's an imprecise and possibly deceptive way to word it
@@johnmann7o2 When you watch a 4k TV, both eyes are still seeing 4k independently...Otherwise It would be like saying you're getting 8k's worth of resolution from a 4k TV if you look at it with both eyes.
Valve Index resolution is pretty bad compared to newer 4k headsets. There's a big difference in clarity. Valve is working on something new though. Hope it comes out next year.
For $200 more dollars, maybe I'll go for the Focus 3 for the 5k resolution. Wider field of view, & sd card slot expansion. Also, why did you say 2 hours of battery when the vive website says up to 15 hours?
Not bad but doesn’t offer that much more rhan the quest at that price. Sure the balance and comfort looks better and there is a slightly better fov but idk…
I’m confused what their target market segment is. It doesn’t have strong catalog to attract gaming enthusiasts nor does it have correct price point to attract casual gamers.
Like having a super-computer already in your pocket? Get used to A.R. now.... because the tech will eventually fit into a normal pair of sunglasses and the world will change even more so.
Design is cool, but it's double price of Quest 2, and only has a 90hz panel. Resolution is okay. They should have pushed to at least 120. Maybe oled as the OG Vive had.
you're on a platform owned by Google, at this point all of your personal information has already been collected, including your preferences. You might as well just take the plunge and enjoy life.
Hate all these spoon fed demos in environments made by the vendors. Wait for the eval kits to be sent out so that reviewers can review in their own places. Remember the Vive Cosmos fiasco?
If only steam client stepped in and engineered their own all in one vr headset to compete against Mark Zuckerberg it would be Legendary man imagine steam games on its own standalone headset Mark Zuckerberg does NOT own the idea to all in one vr headset the chinese market has been making these before him.
1.Outdated chipset 2. NO EYE TRACKING This is laughable. Why implement something on previous headset and remove them later and not only that CHARGE MORE!!!
Depends. A person who owns a headset already could sell theirs and by this since most headsets do not depreciate substantially. Only spent 200 dollars upgrading from vive to index.
It honestly depends on the specs. If its wireless, 120hz, Oled, and maybe hdr or high peak brightness, comfortable and long battery life then yes 500$ is consumer friendly
