It’s been an awesome opportunity to try this thing out and to make the video manual. The spec sheet, as impressive as it is, doesn’t do it justice. Once you get under the hood, MIG and TIG performance is right there with top tier dedicated machines, or better in some cases.
I looked at the setup and like the fact it does Tig & Mig. 1 thing in my opinion, is the leads for the mig, tig, foot pedal & ground are to short. 18 to 20ft would have in my opinion been a better option. If your planning on doing any real work. 10ft is maybe good for the occasional garage home owner. It be nice if they offered 2 choices like 20ft mig, tig, pedal & ground, & a 20ft long spool gun for aluminum. Again my opinion.
@ZILA! I love mine so far and look forward to getting the most out of it. Great video and story of how this machine came to be. I like that I can fix just about anything that comes into the shop with this one machine. It's ready for it and I don't have to hook up and unhook all of the accessories to keep working. Just press the menu for what process and polarity I need and the machine automatically switches it over. Well done.
Well darn. I set myself up with the pro pulse 220 last year. Always behind the curve :-) I did enjoy watching you and JC Smith working on that frame stretch using the 220 PP machine.
Luckily welding machines are not like women…. You can have more than one and they are not jealous of each other 😂 Thanks! JC is an awesome guy ! Very detail oriented !
Hoping to get one of these for the shop, been using the Lincoln 330 mpx for most everything but really wanting something with pulse mig abilities. I've looked at htp machines for a long time and I think this will be the one to make me buy.
Seems like you did a hell of a job on this design. I was just about to pull the trigger on the 220 a couple months ago, but now I’m intrigued with this machine. I haven’t done much aluminum work in the past, but I’d like to have the ability to do it whenever the time comes.
Looks like a great machine and its been developed by an actual real world welder. I tested some new machines recently and the synergic curves were so far out they had to be used in manual setup! Any plans to sell this in the UK?
Matt, especially the economy import machines … you wonder why they even make synergic curves. This machine was designed specifically for the US market. “Americans love” multiprocess machines and “Europeans hate” multiprocess machines… they think they are “unreliable and not good performing” So as of right now i dont think Stel has any plans to sell this unit in Europe. If you want one email me, lets talk.
@@ZILAwelds is that really the case? At least in the budget segment I see a lot of multiprocess machines and in the RU-vid comment sections of the German channels everyone is looking for the silver bullet. It might be that only hobbyists like me are looking into those. And at least for me it's too expensive, considering the amount of welding I actually do. But I'm not sure that their impression is correct. They could be right as far as professionals go though ...
It does not. When i did some tech support for HTP a while back i found out that: Less than 1/100 guys know how to use it And 20/100 guys get “stuck” in the asymmetric arc mode and it “messes up” their welding results. After talking to them and helping them out of the program, they never use it again. Personally i found myself using it 2 times in 12 years … This Revolution machine was developed with the repair industry in mind, and even though it has a lot of features and can be complex, it was still designed to be simple and straight forward. The frustration free ease of operation took priority over some feature that confuses more guys that it helps.
Hello Peter, I think you mentioned in a different video that this machine cannot pulse with solid wire. I just wanted to verify that. I also wanted to ask how would it operate with metal cored wire ( E70C-3M/ E70C-6M-H4/E70C-6LS)?
the machine will pulse with sold wire 030 diameter. single and manual double pulse. metal cored wires are really rare and "hard to find" in 035 diameter and currently there is no synergic program for metal cored wires neither with nor without pulse. of course without pulse you could always run it in the manual mode ... HTP currently does not have a good source for quality metal core wires in 035 diameter (045 would be too much for this machine) on 10 lbs 8" rolls ... I know Lincoln sells some on 8" rolls in some sauce those are 15 lbs the rod is about 1" wider and also would not fit int he cabinet, in HTP's understanding metal cored wires are more used in a fabrication/production environment for high volume welds ... where 12" roll and 045 wire is preferred ...
I am going to bite the bullet and purchase the Revolution 2500. I will keep my MIG 240 , it's basic but it's built like a tank and has never let me down .
Peter, a very interesting welder. Is the ac/dc tig the only real difference from my 220 pro pulse ( other than amps available)? . How about arranging to ship one to me in Canada to try out and do some promo for the 2500.
Comparison video coming! The acdc tig is a difference, the pulse stick is a difference, the dual voltage input, the 20 amps more on mig, the much higher peak on mig before it dials itself down, the much lower power consumption, more mig aluminum programs with pulse a d additionally mig aluminum programs without pulse that are virtually smoke free! Fully adjustable double pulse features not just on aluminum but also on steel. Can i please stop typing now?!? Lol There is much more but …. I am not sure anyone really cares
I am a little confused by one thing. The unit comes with a usb drive and the website has a firmware download, is this an update? There is no way that I have seen to view the firmware version and even the firmware download on the website doesn’t tell what version it is or have release notes etc it just says 23-10-2023 which I’m assuming is the firmware release date? Do the newer machines already come with this firmware?
