Huawei’s Digging Its Own Grave, Faking Autonomous Driving, Outraging Car Owners: “Frauds!”

Comparatively, Huawei's autonomous driving system requires human intervention after just over 1000 kilometers, a distance significantly shorter than that achieved by other brands, which can reach tens of thousands of kilometers. This performance only ranks Huawei around 20th globally, casting doubt on claims of being the world leader in this field. This discrepancy raises concerns that Yu Chengdong might be misinformed by his own team.
A former Huawei employee has revealed that the autonomous driving routes showcased in the video were tested by him countless times during his tenure at the company. He stated that most well-known autonomous driving companies are capable of achieving similar results. As for the widespread adoption and promotion of such technology, he remains skeptical and believes further validation is needed.
Netizens have also leaked information suggesting that Huawei's autonomous driving demonstrations, particularly on rural roads and obstacle avoidance scenarios, were pre-scanned using industrial LiDAR to create a 3D model, with the data pre-loaded into the system. This implies that the vehicle's ability to navigate and avoid obstacles is not as real-time or adaptive as portrayed.

1. Huawei do not make any Huawei cars. 2. Huawei is supporting many worldwide known as well as China brands, including famous US and European brands. 3. Many proven in Auto drive Taxi in China are using Huawei inside for more than 3 years, two of them got full license to operate, one of these two is in Beijing. 4. Huawei's auto drive solution is unavoidable in China, as both UWB and 5G are involving Huawei's IP rights 5. China's navigation apps have to adopt five layers flyovers, Huawei's 5G solution is unavoidable. 6. The realtime traffic light countdowns for cluster coordinations in navigation apps and vehicles can only be applied to auto drive capability with 5.5G technology, which is Huawei's strength again. China is the only country on earth that can make traffic light status with realtime countdown available on apps! Only with 5G, this precision applications to auto drive vehicles can be implemented.

@@gutralithis is just muddying the waters and false. Periodic inputs are required to make sure the driver is still awake and able to take over if needed. @gutrali 9 месяцев назад
@@probablyinconsistent4756 I own a Tesla with full self driving since 2021. I've test driven several other cars that have similar systems , including normal dynamic cruise, and spoken to their daily drivers. The reason people don't trust the system is because they don't understand the system. Getting to know what it is capable of and what it is bad at is enough to start trusting it. Of course it isn't perfect. And of course humans are afraid of giving up control. Just because MOST people don't trust such systems, do not mean they aren't good at what they do. For example, You definitely don't see people freaking out when the plane they're on is flown 98% by a computer, do you? You don't see the pilots freak out either... because they understand the system, and use it well. So you bring a very valid and obvious, but irrelevant point to the discussion.

The problem is not in the technology, but in the road data provided in the field. It doesn't solely depend on road rules. If all manufacturers can start relying only on intelligence and neural networks then the problems can be eliminated. With just roads and maps standardised which are static and doesn't account for the ever changing traffic, nothing's gonna change. Tesla will work in India but it will need to understand the dynamics. I am an Indian and roads are always congested, due to various reasons and we often bend rules to our advantage, that is why a vehicle rigid on map and street simulations alone won't make it.

A bunch of fools are indulging in the statements of liars and getting high. In fact, Huawei’s AITO series is widely praised. Among them, the advanced version of AITO 9 has won the sales championship in China (absolutely leading the way), with sales of 50,000 units in just 2 months. Its reputation, experience and intelligent driving among customers are far ahead. Intelligent driving is infinitely close to the L4 level, while all other brands do not even meet the L3 standard. The United States is going to impose sanctions on Chinese cars for safety reasons. Of course, this safety is "national security" rather than "driving safety." The United States has used tactics countless times to strike outside the "rules" against capable competitors or opponents that surpass it.

Tesla has the correct approach. Just look at it this way, humans, who can be very good at driving, use just their eyes as a sensor. The potential problem with humans has nothing to do with their ability to drive or any deficiency with their sensors. Problems generally arise when the human is distracted, takes attention away from the road (my car, an ICE vehicle, actually has a sensor that warns me if I am doing that), or just does something dumb (not an unusual occurrence). The idea of a self-driving car is to avoid these shortcomings. Huawei's approach requires the fusion of many sensors. I have worked with this in the aerospace environment and have taught it in technical courses. I know how difficult it can be. Considering the level of technology in China vs. the west, I doubt they can do a credible job.
@crunchyfrog555
@crunchyfrog555 9 месяцев назад
Wrong. It'as not just distraction as that's just one mere problem. Look at Tesla's effort - it's disastrous, doesn't work properly, and has injured many and caused accidents galore. @@crunchyfrog555 Oh, come on man. I have been driving for half a century, and have had two accidents, both caused by mechanical failures. These failures were not something a self-driving technology could avoid. I also know lots of people who have similar driving experiences. If a large number of people can go that long without a driver induced accident, then I call that a success. As for Tesla's technology, do you have data on that? I am asking sincerely. Sources and numbers. I have to admit, few of the Tesla drivers I know or have run across, use the feature, and it is generally not because they had a problem, but because it is new, and I guess can be somewhat scary.

I don’t think completely autonomous driving is possible. The scenarios of the AI being a taxi or working in the car instead of driving or someone without a drivers license being the sole operator of a vehicle are never achievable but they have already been promised. The edge cases like emergency vehicles are too complex and too rare to ever solve with AI.
@MegaRazorback
@MegaRazorback 9 месяцев назад
Not only that but an AI can easily "hide" any issues (We'd consider it going past its original job as an issue) it may have if it fears being pulled out and reset...You put an AI that can do that in a vehicle and the moment it's found to have those issues it'll shut itself up from any outside comms and try to flee to preserve itself.

And just 5 years ago someone like you would also say having AI create paintings and photorealistic images would be impossible because it requires imagination and that's simply something that "machines" can't do, yet here we are. If you have a decent understanding of how true AI is built, then you'll know there is essentially nothing that AI can't do, and do it better than humans can. The bottleneck today is simply computation power and data. If humans can drive and handle edge cases, you can bet your ass that AI will someday also be capable. Go back in history far enough and you'll find people who thought sending a message across the entire Earth within seconds with a device that fits in your pocket would be impossible, people who thought flying and going to space would be impossible, a single weapon that could obliterate an entire city to be impossible, etc. Humans 30 years from now will judge your comment about cars driving themselves being impossible with the same kind of sentiment.

@@kanesmith8271 Would we as a species EVER give an AI full freedom to do what it wants if we managed to make one? No we wouldn't, we'd have it locked down tighter than fort knox and the moment we either suspect or know of any issues we'd either kill it or reset it to what "factory" settings the thing was "made" with because the LAST thing we'd ever want is what amounts to in our eyes a rampant AI that's not under our control and if you think we wouldn't do that to the first AI ever made then you don't know human nature very well.

The realtime traffic light countdowns for cluster coordinations in navigation apps and vehicles can only be applied to auto drive capability with 5.5G technology, which is Huawei's strength again.
