I have the p30 pro, I chose it because of the camera... Cameras. And it's amazing! Of course no phone camera is perfect, but if you know how all the camera settings and modes work and how to use it manually, there's no problem at all, and pictures turn out good every time. Also the charging speed is fuc*ing amazing👌👌

How is the screen and back of the phone holding up for people against scratches/cracks because it's not Corning gorilla glass,which I think is crazy with the p30 and p30 Pro prices !
I have been using my P30 Pro for a week now and it's just awesome. Apple and Samsung are not as good as they are cracked up to be. The P30 Pro's battery is insane it even got me till the third day of usage. The camera is beyond description. You can barely notice the difference between it's night mode and the Pixel 3's. Concerning the x50 zooming ... you will not believe how far you can reach... The design is just amazing especially the aurora color. I charged the battery from 30% to 100% in 25 minutes. The P30 Pro is really worth the money
I got the Mate 20 Pro and got this for the wifey and used the camera of it and I must say, it is very impressive. My wife is very happy with it. There was just so much value in it that I chose it over the Galaxy S10+. 256GB, Super Charging, Super Camera and from my place we get a free Huawei Watch GT. No contest there, I just clicked the pre-order and the rest was history. The phone seems massive though.
If video recording is not your thing and if color reproduction is not important just wanting a lot of zoom and taking only night photos than yes the huawei is better. Have you noticed how everything on the p30 has a orange tint? how the people dont look real. Have you noticed that the white is not white its kind of yellow-ish orange.
Watching from my p30 pro. So far so good. Full hd+ screen resolution is fine with me for I know that the trade off is the best battery life I ever experienced on a smartphone. Camera is not the best, yes, but versatility is very important on a day to day basis and p30 pro camera delivers on every situation. The only thing I dislike is finding a good screen protector. Well, I think every curved smartphone has that problem. 😂😂😂
Got the P30 pro (breathing crystal) couple of days back & this phone is really a beast!! It's not only about the camera (which is top notch) but the battery life on this thing is really monstrous.
Had it for about 2 weeks now. Freaking awesome device. No acidental touches that I can remember and the touch gestores have worked very well. The camera is fantastic probably the best of any phone, defintley the most versatile by far. I have even managed to fotograph stars which is unbelievable. Even the only speaker is better than what I thought. Not fantastic but no phone speaker is anyway and if you want to consume media using headphones is obviously still the way to go. The screen is very good even if not the best. I just compared it to an s10 plus and could not tell any difference. If battery life and photography are your priorities this is the phone to get
insane ant gaming I am wondering about that too! My iPhone captures a photo really really fast comparing to my husband’s Samsung that delays and then the shots are blurred...
I have the p30 pro for 3 weeks now and have to say am really happy with it 😊 What you said about the speaker and the display is spot on. Could be sharper and brighter but not a major con for me. The speaker I tend to cover it with my finger when I use it one handed But overall I think it is a really great phone especially cause I got a ton of freebies. I got the MediaPad M5 lite tablet, the Huawei GT smart watch and a 1 terabyte external hard drive 😊 So basically got it for the price of a xiaomi Mi9 😉 Cheers and more power to your channel

Same, ive been dreaming about a decent zoom for ages. Every time i try to make a picture of the moon or something thats very distant im left with a blurry noisy image, not with this.

Got the Aurora one, The base model released in the Philippines is actually the 256gb model at the price (or maybe even a bit lower) of the 128gb, so that's a huge bonus. Very happy with it so far. Accidental touches on the side, or the side swipes, have not been an issue for me since I used a phone case from day one.
I don't own a P30 Pro but I really like the design and the 50X zoom. The AI is not that impressive in my opinion as it could get blown out of proportions. The 50X zoom is what attracts me in the first place because I have a spy in me. =D lol! Cheers! Great video and I love your jokes. Looking forward for your next video.
Finally someone who's made a comment about the every day performance of the camera. Most others just talk only about zoom and night mode which you'd seldom use other than to show off. I've also been underwhelmed by the camera so I went with the s10+. Just better hdr processing and dynamic range which will serve you better day to day
tony okoro Hardware is far superior on the P30P, you simply cannot get that type of zoom on the S10+ and never will. Software can be improved, just use the Pro mode or another camera app! Also software is getting better, the dual video record has come through on a recent update and with a great night mode, the P30P is the better camera phone if you make the effort. As for video, the S10+ no longer has a Pro mode, but is above average and better than the P30P in auto mode. However, I use 95% as a camera and video is not important to me and therefore the P30P is fine on the few occasions I need it. Overall Huawei are killing it at the moment, 50% increase in sales compared to Samsung 40% decline in revenue and when you take into account the US ban, the Law of Supply and Demand is telling us that consumers are switching big time to Huawei. That is even with the influencers hype for anything Samsung!
I've had it for three years. Almost four years. I have no complaints. It has one flaw that's not very prominent: the fingerprint sensor has a slightly yellowish display And as for charging, the 45watt charge into the charging cable is broken so it just charges smoothly.
Watching on my p30 pro. Bought this exactly a year ago today. Absolutely still loving it. No scratches. Dropped it (not on purpose tho) from shoulder length face down with no screen protector and surprisingly, no scratches.
I have a P30 pro, after upgrading the software my play store stopped working. I also have a OnePlus 8pro and I find the camera better on OnePlus. On Huawei there is a photo lag that is frustrating when trying to take pics of moving things. From my experience is not a phone that I would recommend. This is the opinion of many users on the Huawei forum.
Had it two weeks now. Tested most things very successfully. As expected as you zoom from 25x to 50x, it's not so good, but you can still take a useful picture which no other phone will do right now. Sound level is good. Good storage at 250gb. Night photography insanely good. Battery lasts and lasts. Want to get some good star shots, but too much pollution where I am. Nothing's perfect - and neither is the P30 Pro - but am I glad I got it. Previously a Samsung Note ownere.
Auto screen dimming is annoying on mine as it still activates in some apps even with auto brightness turned off. I often turn my phone on and the brightness slider has lowered to near minimum level. 50x zoom is not sharp . Up to 25x is acceptable though. Often have to re-register my fingerprint every few days or it struggles to read it. Battery life is excellent as is night mode but a 16:9 photo option would have been welcome. I have noticed differences in colour balance on photo's between the three different camera lenses with skin tones on video being especially too saturated. I have turned off the annoying Google assistant that activated every time I pressed the power button by switching off H-Touch in the phone settings.
i happy with my p30 pro yes do miss the stereo speakers but that not a big thing as most of the times using it with headphones and the only other thing i find is the ear call microphone under the glass can vibrate sometimes but battery and charging is just wow! & camera is good for a smartphone, a smartphone camera it never goting to be like a professional camera and your only taking a mature photo video etc.
I got the P30 Pro, and to be honest, anything would be better than my old galaxy j7 pro from 2017. I also had a ton of free stuff with it, I got the Sonos One speaker, the Huawei wireless charger and a Huawei body fat scale lol. If I sell these things, it's like as if I paid for a OnePlus 7 pro worth $750.
I got me a Huawei P30 Pro coming from a Galaxy S7 (yeah 3year cycle). I am more than happy and the best part? at my carriere it is cheaper than the S10, S10+, Note9, Iphone XR ff. and Pixel 3XL :) And i got a sonos one speaker for free.

I have this phone and think you have been spot on fair if you are talking about taking snaps purely in auto mode. I guess that is how most users will use it. I have taken to using the pro mode for sorting out the exposure issues and personally think this is the best phone out there for photography.
This is the best phone for people like me who suffer from PWM. This phone has DC Dimming which curse all eyes strain and headaches of PMW OLED devices. This plays all games without heating up or lag. Camera is incredible. Battery is unreal. I've went 2 days without charging. When I do need a charge 70 percent in 30 min. Wireless charging for my headphones. Everyone I know wishes they had this phone. It's nearly perfect. A definite excellent purchase.
I had it for a week and it was OK. Great camera and battery life but, phones have reached their peak and don't really do much more than your last flagship couldn't do.

light is faster than sound. P30 pro's fingerprint sensor is a 2d optical scanner unlike Samsung's which is an ultrasonic 3d scanner. So definitely P30 pro's scanner will be slightly faster but less secure and less functional with moisture and dirt
Uff. Again. People clueless about cameras and photography doing reviews with conclusions as some kinds of authorities. The Huawei pssibly has best camera around in some sense for sure. 40Mpx 1/1,7" sensor with sharp f/1.6 obviously is best around. No discussion. In hands of good photographer, it should make best controlled image quality pictures. If the software doesn´t behave in a way that uninformed user gets best images from it with competition around, using "point and shoot" technique, than it cannot be claimed as pure camera fault or defficiency. You can skew your review on one side or the other, that´s for sure. Sometimes phone even wins over DSLR if you want so....

Unless you have firmware release 153 installed the ToF sensor remains inactive. There are also a bunch of other camera improvements added 'under the hood'.
I have never experienced accidental press on the side when I want to go back. I actually think swipe from either side to go back is much easier and natural to reach than swipe from left button.
I am super impressed with my P30 pro. Love the cameras and so far I've enjoyed the software. Battery life is awesome. My only complaint is that video stabilization...
Hi...I like this phone...but the only thing stopping me from buying this is the Lockscreen Notifications...Unlike iphone or Pixel where, when u get a notification the screen lights up and u can either reply or delete it without unlocking the phone in Huawei its not the case...u can only see the notification and if u want to reply to it u actually need to unlock the phone and go to that App for the actions...Is this still the case?
Just because of color u think its crappy phone :? I think it has realistic colors, its the best phone for zooming & night camera. It sees better than human in dark room not its not rly overhyped its new technology for phone
I'll be honest, the phone is wonderful. However I have a real issue with the size, as with most flagships now, they're simply too big to hold comfortably. So I've gone back to my Honor 10... However I want to be able to find a newer phone with decent battery and all the bells and whistles without being so big for smaller hands. Holding out for the Honor 20, fingers crossed!
I use my phone to listen to music and get very good quality through my wired earphones. There is no headphone jack on this phone which makes it a deal-breaker for me. No thanks.
I think you're just being a little too picky. I've come from a Huawei Mate 10 Pro to this phone and I really have no fuss whether it's not the best screen out there or if it has only one speaker, I use my Bluetooth earbuds to listen to sound anyway, nothing worse than hearing music through tiny tinny speakers, on any phone. And neither bothered with any other picky things you went over. It's a great camera and the phone itself is lovely to to use on a daily basis. And better price than some Ovid brands. I do a bit of editing on photos anyway like most people do , you will get many pics that need more processing even professional photographers do that.
8:32 you read my mind. Don't know why reviewers call it a feature? If you can throw it on, why not, but that is it. Don't expect it to replace your any kind of remote instead of doing things like volume/channel up/down, and in some cases no support at all. So just shudup.
I want my 3.5 mm hi fi set to run on it but there are dac dongles and one worthed 500 dollars to get same sound quality from the 3.5mm Jack from s10 Samsung. I am so upset for p30 Pro for removing the jack. Chinese manifacturer just disappointed me I'm p10 user
Watching this on my p30 pro which I have owned from the release date. I moved up from a Samsung S8 to this and I am still very happy with it. I agree with your comments 100%. I take lots of photos and the occasional video and I have great results. It would be nice to be able to take 4k at 60 fps and I do get juddering at 30fps too so the majority of video I shoot is at 1080 @60 fps. Very pleased with my purchase and not tempted to upgrade as this fits my usage perfectly.
I agree so much about the partly unjustified camera hype. I don't own the P30 Pro, have tested it in store, own the regular P30 and I am so disappointed with the "everyday" camera quality, even compared to my 4 year old Samsung S6. From what I've seen even the Mate 20 Pro has better daytime photography, with a bit better colors and exposure because of the good old RGB sensor. For me, the RYYB sensor implementation is more of a miss, as what is brings for low light it looses for the way it handles bright light exposure and colors, including the way many photos seem to have a green-ish tint.
for me... the huawei p30 pro and huawei in general lately seem to be to much about low light shots that in turn hurts the day light shots, even more so because images look more yellow then they should, probably down to the new RYYB or whatever sensor that is now using yellows. I mean in low light this thing is freaking impressive. but other moments... meh
@@ASBYT yeah, for me the hype around simply low light and so much focus on it is wearing thin fast. I think having good low light shots is great! But not if it hurts daylight shots, because well.. most people take daylight shots I imagine? At least I do haha. Also.. no microsd, no headphone jack. For myself those 2 things are a big mist if i pay that kind of money. It is my multimedia device. S10 is a bit boring but it covers does basics really well
Might mode and 110x zoom is the only thing I like about this phone. General photo's gestures security and ease of use I decided on the s10 plus. And would not change.
I opted for the p30 pro over the samsung.ive had Samsung phones for at least 6 years and I'm really happy with the p30 pro.not had any issues ,more than happy but do agree about the gestures swipe left and right...can be annoying

I would love to have the P30 pro just for the zoom and night mode. Next to actually making phone calls the camera is the most important feature on a smartphone for me and I think this one is probably one of the best out there. With that said though, I think for an overall best user experience the S10+ would probably take that title. I have neither so I don't know from experience. This is just from my wantability factor after watching all these darn review videos on both phones : )
@@roeshak10 maybe you wouldn't use the features that often, but I would have a need for both of these features. Maybe not everyday, but they would be frequently used. For example, as a father of three teenage kids that play sports, you'd be surprised at how poorly my existing phone is at taking photos with zoom. Every picture turns out having a lot of grain and most are blurry as well with zoomed in action photos. As for the night mode I do home inspections on the side and take a lot of low light photos. Try taking a photo in a dark basement. I think that night mode on the P30 Pro would come in handy for me. So again, maybe these features are gimmicky for most, but I think I would be able to put them to good use. As I mentioned in my original post, even with these two features that I could put to good use, I think the S10+ would be the overall best smartphone.

What is the sound quality like if you connect wired earphones with 3.5 jack via a converter lead to the USB C. I like to use these for watching RU-vid videos as Bluetooth is good for music but doesn't sync so well with speech on RU-vid videos. Thank you

However, I'm wondering whether there is just the possibility to shoot 0.6x, 1x and 5x or is there also something between? Let's suppose I want to take a portrait photo with about 2x zoom. A lot of talk but all you are saying is this thing has big battery and bigger camera. Hey, it's a phone. How's the telephone, wireless LAN and broadband performance? How's the security? How's the video, local and over the network? You know, the difficult to review stuff?
I've had this phone since day one and I can say I'm really happy with it. For the money and what you get compared with Samsung for me personally it's better, but if people were looking to upgrade I'd say hold out for the note 10 1st and see what they come up with. In all I agree with ASBYT review. It's a phone I bought for its zoom feature to save me carrying around a big camera so its perfect for me on family days out when you need that practicality
01:16 02:28 and 06:39 Look at the left down corner of the phone, next to the SIM tray. The paint is peeling off the phone. And you say the build quality is great! I saw a few black P30 PRO's which had problems with the paint coming off the bottom side of the phone. Really disappointing!!

The Galaxy S10 plus got the night mode a few hours ago through a software update. Can you test it again comparing it with P30 Pro?I think it got better having less saturation but still keeping the scenes cool and bright enough. I have the S10 Plus and feel really comfortable with the stereo speakers,headphone jack, how light the phone is and the OLED with a punch hole wrather than the waterdrop notch which is normal to see in many budget phones these days.I think except the creepy zoom and the ability to take photos in almost no light situation, the S10 plus is much more balanced being in total better than the P30 Pro.

it look premium and it has a good camera .battery life super but it just dosent feel premium like s10 plus when you actually use it daily . I regretted selling off my s10 plus . trying to sell off or trade to get back Samsung s10 plus , any buyer ?.
why would you do such a thing?! please can you elaborate what are the differences? I think the camera is not that great compared to the s10, the video recording is worse and the colors are off like way off.
still using the p30 pro today and it runs rediculously well even in 2022. I was going to upgrade to the pixel 7 pro but the camera and battery on this is still decent!
I have it for weeks now and no scratches yet. Camera is great. Thats the best. Battery is wow!!!!! And it works fast. Cons: mobile legend dsnt fit the screen.
I use an app and using the sides in necessary for opening that app. Not sure why they would do the gestures like that, without giving us an option to use only the bottom for gestures.
I was thinking on upgrading my LG V30 to the P30 Pro but I compared them side by side and the LG V30 screen is much better, photos on the LG have A LOT more details and I hate the curved screen on the P30 Pro... I also lose the audio quality of the V30... So, what do I get? Faster phone, better battery and zoom.. I think I'll skip and wait for the next iteration.
