Huawei P40 Pro CAMERA Walkthrough! (+ Hidden Modes!) | The Tech Chap 

Hey Chaps! What do you think of the P40 Pros camera?? (To be clear. All Huawei wanted was for me to make a video about the camera. Every photo, opinion and criticism is my own. And for a £899 phone, I think the camera is great 👍)

I Just got Huawei P40 pro few days ago. I am so happy. All apps that I use are now installed and working perfectly. All Google services needed are already running. I've compared camera with iPhone 13 and Huawei is way way better. Performance is perfect

Huawei truly do have remarkable cameras. The biggest holdout for me is how different the colour profile of an image/video comes out depending on which lens you use. It is something I noticed and will never be able to unsee. It was most evident in the video you demonstrated with the two lenses filming at once. This is something that Apple, Google and Samsung have seemed to do a decent job at overcoming.

Watching this on my P40 pro without GMS on Vanced. Probably the best camera right now!

I got to say this phone looks amazing, I really like the camera it gives you the performance that you are looking on a smartphone. Can someone tell me if this is better than Samsung Galaxy S10+. Great content as always

I love whipping it out to point and shoot. Though my family doesn't like it most of the time I find it relaxing and it allows me to release anything that's built up. This quarantine sucks because it means I can't whip it out everywhere and show off all 160mm of it.

Thomas, i’m still using my mate 20 pro, tested s10+/N10+ then S20U then OP 8 pro but returned them all. I can’t live without thr battery life and versatility of my huawei. Would you recommend the P40 pro given the google situation, honestly ? There are lany apps that won’t ever work and i need my contacts and agenda to be synced on my google account ....

The photo mode yields better results than night mode in most situations. I though that I'm alone in noticing this. I take photo mode and night mode to be sure that I get the best shots.

Never get bored of watching your channel mate

I just got one of these last week and it's great. A lot of my photos so far have been poor, but it's because I've been trying to take photos in ridiculously dark situations just to test it, but with any little bit of light at all it's great. I also took a Moon photo, and it's virtually exactly the same as the one here, but just one note: You said _"without night mode"_ in regard to the Moon photo, but you definitely wouldn't need night mode when taking a photo of the Moon, you pretty much need the opposite, since there's no shortage of light from the Moon. Generally the Moon will just be a big bright blob in normal photo mode as the phone tries to figure out why everything is so dark, until it realises that it's the Moon, and so it adjusts the exposure accordingly. If you have the AI turned on you will probably see the word "Moon" popping up on the screen as the phone adjusts the exposure. I also took one at x50 and it was -really_ difficult to keep the phone pointed at the Moon. Definitely a great phone to mess around with..

Unfortunately the lack of GMS is a very serious omission; in particular the lack of banking apps. It would be great to know if the various RU-vid GMS download and installation are actually reliable.

Hi techchap, you miss the review on the Macro shot result. What is your opinion on the macro shot between P40 and P40 Pro? As some of us know that in the P40 series, only the P40 that has super macro mode using it's ultra wide lens whereas P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ does not have super macro mode anymore (removed by Huawei). So does the result of P40 macro shot with super macro mode (using its ultra wide lens) is better compare to P40 Pro macro shot with 5x optical zoom? Can you please test this out? Thank you

I'm about to start uni next year and just broken my old laptop, would you consider the msi gs66 but the 1700pounds specs one to me tech chaps, if not what other light but good gaming laptop would you consider. Was going to go with buying asus rog strix hero but after watching your vid on msi gs66 made me change my mind as it much cheaper with 10th gen Intel i7 than the 9th on asus. Maybe 2 main cameras. one for the regular 50MP camera and maybe the second main for either 12 or 108MP. Then the software will detect which cameras to use based on the scenario. Thinking that maybe the 12MP have large pixel size

I love my p40, but I'm very disappointed about pictures of sunsets in particular. The colours are so bad and even artificial or far too bright. Do you have any idea how to fix that? Any app or something? Thank u!!

Can you use obs ninja with out any issues 😢. My p40 pro doesn't work with that

How were you able to take a picture of the moon this good? because at some point for me at 50X it just looks upscaled and nothing sharp like this so I don't understand

Can't wait till I get it soon as I'm paying it up. Shop let me check the phone and I must admit I'm so impressed what I saw. For astrophotography side pixel 4 is pretty good but Huawei just makes it better than pixel 4. This phone is the Godzilla of cameras as I've got the Huawei p20pro and normal p20 and I've tested them and both are fantastic! Glad Google isn't on this phone as Google are watching your every move! Long live Huawei and Huawei p50pro will be even better. Huawei knows how to make their cameras the best in the industry because they know how to do it better than the rest!

Huawei said night mode is used when there is very less light but if there is plenty of lights like buildings you can use the normal photo mode.

Okay I want some help here and I need everyone's opinion please We know that the Exynos S20 Ultra is kind of inferior to the Snapdragon variant in term of camera and performance In my country they just sell the Exynos variant so I don't have any other option, but I am trying to compare the Exynos S20 Ultra to the iPhone 11 Pro Max and that's a struggle since no one did such a comparison Which one should I get for almost the same money ? Does anyone know why Aperture mode is suddnely not zooming that much anymore? When i am switching to Aperture mode it is usting the same zoom as in Portrait or normal photo

i owned a p30 pro and now a p40 pro. the closeupt mode it goes into when you get close to the object werks perfect in the p30 pro.. in the p40 pro it keeps on focussing in and out and i cant get a good shot a lot of the times in closeup. the closer i get the more it worsens btw

Ultra wide angle camera must be wider plus added as a front selfie camera.

Would be nice to see an inbuilt star tracking system with a longer shutter speed on Pro mode. Something where we could get 90s shots of the sky without star trails.

hidden gems I noticed on Mate20pro and applies to the rest of Huawei line as well: - Super macro photography with telephoto lens is INSANE! A freakin microscope! Nothing comes even close - HDR mode often does better job than Night mode and it does it instantly! Even works great with fast moving kids. faults: - Photo modes are so hard to navigate, impossible to customize and move shortcuts around, especially those specialized ones. - I couldn't agree more about weird zooming

Can someone help me with something ? I have the P40 Pro but I have one major problem. The quality of the videos taken by the FFC are very very bad especially for the videos taken in my home. Does my phone have problems or is it normal ? I compared the video quality with a Sammy A70 and the A70 wins by light years. Hoe someone can answer me. Thanks.

i don't why, but i don't have dng files, even if i set the raw mode.. anyone know why?

RAW files come in at about 100mb, makes post processing painfully slow. This should not be overlooked.

Has there been any updates on Huawei's ban?

No tech reviewer mentions the fact that Huawei is superimposing pictures of the moon when it knows you are taking pictures of it. If this were Samsung it would be on every tech channel.
